Loin Des Hommes Far From Men Soundtrack

Another great soundtrack by the intoxicating Nick Cave, Warren Ellis duo. If you are a fan of White Lunar or The Proposition, you will absolutely love this motion picture soundtrack, it has that same kind of feel to it.

The soundtrack to "Far From Men" is great! This is another great soundtrack / score from Nick Cave & Warren Ellis. This is also another great soundtrack / score, period, as well, too. The soundtrack from French film-maker David Oelhoffen’s 2014 film (which I haven’t seen), this beautiful, hypnotic piece of instrumental music, composed by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, demonstrates the remarkable versatility of its creators. Of course, as well as turning his hand to screenwriting, acting, novel writing and poetry, Cave is also an experienced film score composer (usually in partnership with Ellis), and the subtle sound-scape the pair have produced here is about as far as you could get from (in particular) the 'in your face’ blues-rock of their Grinderman collaboration. Here, Cave plays a range of keyboards, whilst Ellis is heard on strings, guitar and flute and, although the music is formally split into 14 different tracks, it comes across as a single, consistent piece. It’s the sort of music that it would be easy to dismiss as 'background’, given its subtleties, but this pair have an ear for a melody or theme which gradually gets under your skin, leaving a lasting impression. I was struggling to think of comparators for the music here and could only think of one (outside of other ‘classical’ soundtracks), that of late Talk Talk (the Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock albums). It comes highly recommended.

Asez bon soundtrack!

An incredible musical score - beautifully structured, can't wait to see the film

Ich liebe es, wenn Musik vermag, mich in einen melancholisch/heimeligen Zustand zu versetzen und das hier ist wiedermal ein Soundtrack welcher ebendies schafft, wie nur wenige andere. Zwar ist es der wahrscheinlich bisher experimentelste Soundtrack von Cave und Ellis, jedoch halten sich die eher elektronischen Klänge in einem wirklich angenehmen Maß und passen dort wo sie auftauchen zu 100% perfekt, ebenso kommen auch die von den Beiden gewohnten Piano- und Streicherklänge, natürlich nicht zu kurz. Der gesamte Score ist dabei auch absolut stimmig und somit komplett durchzuhören.Klang:Das Mastering ist hervorragend, speziell bei der Vinylversion kommt z.B. der kräftig-dynamische Klang der Stimme von Track Nr.1 "Far from Men" wunderbar zur Geltung und generell gibt es in puncto Sound m.M.n. nichts auszusetzen.Fazit: Zwar ist das Jahr 2015 noch relativ jung, aber für mich ist dies hier schon ein sehr starker Anwerter, für meinen persönlichen "Soundtrack des Jahres".P.S.: Ein Download-Voucher liegt bei.
