First off May have been stiff just from being new. I am very weak handed and I struggled till I cut a piece of my yoga bands little piece is all I needed and used that to get a better grip on both ends. Then I learned that you need to push in hard and turn at the same time and then you will feel it click and lock. Same thing taking it out. Push and turn. It is getting easier the more I use it. Hope this helps just don’t give up they are really a breeze to use. Other then that it would of been a 5. And better instructions.
