Epic by name Epic by nature
Having already gotten a couple of the other Epic Encounter sets I really wanted this fantastic frost giant. The model comes in 2 parts, the giant and the base. One slight issue was that the giants legs needed repositioning (through use of applied heat and physically moving) to get the pegs on his feet to match up with the holes in the base. However for those that aren't willing or brave enough to do so you could simply snip the pegs off and glue him as is.The level of detail on the model is fantastic, the ankle wraps are full wolf skins tied around and you can see the wolf heads hanging down, there are blades from previous foes sticking in his leg and chest and the textures on the axe head and his furs are insanely detailed. It is supplied unpainted but I got a a friend who is a great painter to do mine for me.As with all the Epic Encounter kits it comes with its double sided encounter map, some tokens and the booklet detailing the suggested encounters and relevant stat blocks for use with Dungeons & Dragons 5e.I cannot recommend these kits highly enough.

Epic miniature.
Great miniature, great brand. Having painted D&D for a few years, I have the epic range to be brilliant for quality and value, I've now purchased almost every boxes in the epic range and been disappointed 👍👍👍👍👍

Good for a one shot or a short campaign BBEG
Good size model with a sculpt that is truly something to behold, the actual size of model is something which is sure to strike excitement and fear into my players hearts. The paper map is a little lack luster, fabric would work better though for the price no complaints!

Great "mini" but....
The detail is good and while it's the usual bendy plastic most board game minis are made from it's details are crisp and well sculpted. This only loses a star from me for being pre assembled and the stunning amount of mold lines that need dealing with. The dear on the back of the figure is not flush as intended and needs removing and reattaching. The head/beard/cloak is another part and while there are no gaps it is impossible to get paint on his back. While it's not seen it does need some paint on it so you don't get a flash of near white plastic from the side. The mold lines on this thing are just insane and as it's PVC? plastic it means scraping them isn't easy as they don't clean up very easily unlike the GW kind of plastic. Think Reaper Bones but not so bendy.I personally didn't like the swords and axe sticking out of him and I removed them without too much trouble. If you want a good sculpt for tabletop standard or don't mind the work then go for it. It's a great piece! If you want display or competition and are not ready to put the preparation work in to return this to it's intended sculpt then avoid!
