Every year I always buy the Philip's Stargazing Month-by-Month Guide to the Night Sky in Britain & Ireland simply because it one of the easiest to understand, is accurate and notifies me of all the things to look out for in the night sky.It is a brilliant guide to the many meteorite showers that we have in Britain and Ireland and if we had not read the book we may have miss a literally never to be repeated natural show.Each month is gone into detail telling us which items to look out for as they are at their best aspect so all the eight planets are included.I was please to see that one of the months has the moon moving past a minor planet which, provided the sky is clear will be a first for me as I imagine it may be for other night sky watchers.Each month has simple but comprehensive views of the night sky looking North and South. The phase of the moon are covered along with a wealth of fascinating and informative information about the sky, planets and stars.The book both educates and entertains and all for lest than the cost of a pint.Amazon always do a special price on this book for just £3 you get 12 months of detailed and interesting information of what to look out for in our free show of the night sky.Totally recommended.

Bought for Christmas for housemate who has a telescope.Had a quick look through and it looks informative but at a level a beginner or casual stargazer can understand, months clearly explained and illustrated with 'night sky diagrams'Ideal for all astronomy fans
