I like that the line inside the retractor is cavalier and last for a long time. It’s good for badges but not multiple keys.

Thicker cord than cheap brands and lasts longer

Heavy, but sturdy, and ideal for someone who wears their badges or keys at the hip or on a belt. Does not have an alligator clip for clothes, which is why I have not used this. The kevlar retractable part is cool to tell people about, meaning no breakage so far!

I wanted to find a nice heavy duty badge reel because the cheap ones I'm used to don't last for long before the cord snaps. Fortunately this Kevlar cord held up really well and the retract mechanism was tight and strong. Unfortunately the plastic snap piece that holds the badge completely broke and thus made the whole setup useless. I was able to use it for 18 months before it broke, now I have moved onto a superior heavy-duty EDC, the LIUGX Retractable Badge Holder with Belt Clip.

Almost everything with this item is perfect.The cord appears to be made of a very durable material that could possibly be used as a bow string in a pinch.*The retracting mechanism is strong enough to hold a janitors key-ring without hitting the weight limit.*The hard-shell could probably withstand being run over by a small car.*The Achilles heel of this product is the clip that holds it to your pants. The clip stays on tight if you're wearing jeans. When you wear dress pants or chinos however, the clip is not tight enough to stay on. Sometimes just putting my hand in my pocket and taking it back out will result in my key-card falling on the ground.As I was writing this review I realized I wear fitted clothes/pants and I do not usually wear a belt. If you wear a belt with your pants, this item will probably work for you. If you don't wear a belt I would suggest the carabiner version. Finally broke. It wouldnt retract the cord. Upon dissection the ribbon spring coil finally snapped.Bought it in 2015 and it's now August 2023.Excellent performer til it's last day. Very strong retracting force, which is what I need for my badge. Will buy again.

As per title, I've had this for several months of everyday use and is still holding up strong. Expect the spring inside the mechanism to break before the string.I would gladly repurchase this when it is time to replace it.

Awesome, durable badge reel. The reel itself is larger and thicker than most reels due to the fact that it has a nice thick ballistic cord on the inside that feels very strong. The pull is significant and I have to wear it on my belt for fear of it ripping off my shirt and hitting some poor soul. The clip itself is nice because it swivels (note this!), but it is a bit looser than I would like it to be.
