Choose a different vendor
This is the only Amazon review that I have ever left, which should convey just how bad this experience was. Purchasing this product from ZY Blinds was an absolute disaster. I spent an entire week exchanging emails with the vendor repeating the exact specifications of my order, to which they would reply with a "confirmation" email randomly changing the dimensions, or the color, or the style. Once the blinds were allegedly finally manufactured, ZY Blinds provided me with fake tracking information. They repeatedly lied to me via email about the status of my order when I emailed requesting a status update. I had to threaten a charge back before I received a real tracking number. The blinds that I ultimately received were the correct dimensions, but the motors are EXTREMELY loud. Since installing these blinds, I have seen similar products purchased from other Amazon vendors and was disappointed to realize that all are much quieter than what I received from ZY Blinds. The idea of motorized blinds is fantastic, but seriously, just do yourself a favor and get them from literally any other Amazon vendors. ZY Blinds shouldn't even be allowed to use Amazon as a sales platform.

NOT Blackout, Nightmare to Deal With.
This is NOT a blackout shade. Flash a light behind the shade when it is dark and you will see that the light shines through. (They send different opacities. You may not be able to distinguish for certain opacities, if it is bright.) I am surprised that other customers did not realize this. They may think that the light shines through from the sides but light indeed shines through the shade. We knew it because we have used blackout shade for years and real blackout shades made our rooms much darker.They also do not do custom cut by 1/8” as they claimed. You get your measurement if you are lucky. We learned this hard after wasting over 2 months and getting 3 shades. They seem to stock different sizes for different opacities and ship different opacities, if customers complain for wrong measurement. The rod was also narrower than promised.The worst part was their customer service. They plainly denied that this is NOT blackout and played with words, even after we showed the light, shines through the shade. They would also insist that they sent correct size, when we showed them clearly exposed rod due to narrower vinyl (2nd photo). They also asked for more photos to see the entire blind, when you cannot see the measurement from a photo shown entire blind, because our shade is large. And then, they state one thing or ask one question, mostly same thing repeatedly, one by one, day by day. Check reviews of this manufacturer. There are customers who were exhausted by this tactic. I believe that they do this to annoy and exhaust customers to minimize the return. ( You cannot return because they are in China. You just have to throw away by yourself. What a waste of environment.)They are in China. They should not try to hide this fact. I, for one, did not mind buying from China, but completely turned away by their service and lies. Do not trust them because they have a USA phone number. They never answer the phone. They ship through 3rd country probably to beat COVID-19 restriction. It takes longer than their promised shipping time, because they will either state or ask same statements/ questions over and over, one by one, day by day.We also noticed that they switched the item to blackout under the reviews for different shade, probably to start off with good reviews and no complaints about not being blackout.

Great product, speedy customer service, confusing installation brochure
This motorized 63-inch room darkening roller shade with remote control was delivered undamaged, three days earlier than expected, after meticulous confirmation by the customer service department. Mounting it requires the same attention to detail, because once mounted, the screws become inaccessible to all but a right-angled screwdriver. I had some difficulty interpreting the photos in the installation brochure (ceiling mount) to my wall-mount requirement at first, because there was no parts diagram of how the end pieces fitted into the center tube.Given the length and weight of the blind, and the unavailability of help, I slipped a wire tie over its center (rolled up, of course) and suspended the blind from the central curtain rod bracket. With the motor end in the right side mount, I slid the left mounting clip on, and marked the wall at the other end through the bracket holes, thereby eliminating measurement errors.In retrospect, it would have been far easier (with an outside mount) to order a blind long enough to mount into the center of the studs. As it was, the pilot holes grazed the sides of the studs, which prevented the plastic wall anchors from properly expanding behind the drywall. However, once completed, the whole assembly is solid, the lessons are learned, and the blind works perfectly, reducing the heat, and darkening the room with the touch of a button.The company offers a video for installation, but the offer is currently noted on the brochure, which comes in the box. It would be more timely and useful if on the website, or YouTube. "How To" videos are more useful than sales demos.
