Outstanding suspense fiction
This is one of the best independently published novels I've read. Okay, that's a notoriously low bar, so let me raise it. Flash is the equal of pretty much anything David Baldacci, for example, has published, and it veers very close to the Robert Ludlum level for excitement, clarity, characters, and sheer I-gotta-keep-reading bumps in the lighting bill. From the first chapter, the characters and the plot pull you in - not just what happens next, but why, and to whom. Both the good guys and the bad guys are interesting, complex, and for the most part believable - though, as with Ludlow, everyone is 20% more clever than any actual human beings. That, however, is half the fun of this genre. It's a good thing the writing starts strong, because the core plot device is lifted straight from Men in Black. Tigner, via the characters, lairs a bunch of scientific pseudo-information over it all, the necessary spoonful of sugar to help this plot device go down. As with good science fiction, however, accept the premise and everything else flows logically, without additional hand-waving or other foolishness. And the premise certainly sets up a terrific beginning (reminiscent of The Bourne Identity, which isn't a bad model at all) and provides a background rhythm of suspense against which the author can play a series of more immediate riffs to build tension and drive the action across the tense (and terse) chapters. One of the villains (the one left alive in the end) is intriguing enough to deserve his own book. Perhaps Tigner will give him the chance to shine in the future.

Great Read - Great Characters - Great Plot - a GREAT THRILLER
If you like BRAD THOR, or VINCE FLYNN, or BRIAN HAIG, or as the author suggests LEE CHILD, or DAVID BALDACCI, your will love TIM TIGNER. Although the third of Tigner's published books, I picked up FLASH first because the hero is a combat veteran from Afghanistan. The action is very fast-paced. The reader is hooked from the first sentence: "Troy awoke to the sound of screaming. That was not unusual for a combat surgeon, but hearing soprano was." Tigner writes an exciting morality play - the good guys are very good and the bad guys are very bad. And it doesn't hurt that one of the "bad guys" is an attorney. The characters that Tigner creates are very interesting. The plot is well developed. The book is very hard to put down. If I didn't have a day-job that required me to get a good nights' sleep every day, I would have read it in one sitting.

The End
The plot was enticing, and held my rapt attention, until the end! I didn't think that the conclusion fit with the rest of the plot. It was too far out that the main evil character was delusional and encouraged to think that he was running for office. And, his death was too brutal, and didn't fit with how he should have been killed. It sounded too much like, "The Pit in the Pendulum," ending. The punishment should have fit the crime. i.e., that he was destitute, bullied, and couldn't remember how he got there...or in prison for the rest of his life and duly bullied, harassed.

Bravo, Tigner! Bravo!
Tim Tigner's "Flash" is a great story that hits on all cylinders, and is never predictable. It is fast paced and exciting, and extrapolates current science just over the horizon to create a plausible and intriguing storyline. While the plot alone is sufficient to carry the book, the character development brings it to a new level. All of the main characters are multi-dimensional beings with complex motivations. I predict this book will be the foundation for a great movie or TV series someday soon. This is a page turner. Please don't start reading this late at night, or you'll be yawning and dozing the next day. This is my first Tigner book, and I feel like I just struck gold!

This is a real page turner! From the first ...
This is a real page turner! From the first few pages you will get to know these characters and want to not only know what becomes of them but also what happened to them to get them in the predicament that they find themselves in. You won't want to put it down. And, just when you think that their backstory has been revealed, you find new and exciting plot twists to keep you engaged. Warning.. give yourself some time to read this book because you wont want to put it down!

like the characters whose memory had been wiped
It took me a little while to get into this book, in part because, like the characters whose memory had been wiped, I couldn't quite figure out where I was in the story. Once I got feel for all the characters and how they all connected, this was a thrilling story, lots of action and moving parts. Another good effort by Tim Tigner.

This book was a lot of fun to read
This book was a lot of fun to read! Lots of twists and turns, interesting characters, some not so obvious scenarios and some that were. Overall a highly enjoyable book written by an interesting new author. Highly Recommened

He's new to me and I like his work.
I am excited to find an author that is new to me. I really enjoyed this book and it kept my attention to the very end. I cannot wait to order more of Tim Tigner's work. Thank you Amazon for allowing me to read enough of the book (first) to catch my interest. It is a good Amazon feature, among many.
