Rio Beach Portable Lay Flat Folding Backpack Beach Lounge Chair with Backpack Straps and Storage Pouch, Blue and Red

I read all the reviews and purchased this beach lounger with some trepidation. I am an old school Senior Citizen, who has been spending 6 weeks in Miami Beach for a few years now. I threw away my old plastic web lounger because a few of the pieces had broken, and then when I tried to find a new one, I was very sorry to learn they are no longer available, except for over $60. It was too late; the old one was gone, so I started searching and read all of the reviews. While most of the reviews for this product are good, I was frightened by the ones where the material had torn after only a few uses, and even worse, stories of people falling because the lounger collapsed. Some said it might not work well on the beach, so I ordered a much more expensive, taller lounger, that might be used as a camp cot, and when it arrived I immediately saw that it was way too heavy for me to carry from my condo to the beach, so I returned it. All the others even ones more expensive than this one, had the same mixed reviews , so I decided to take a chance on this one as I did not want to have to search for one when I arrived after a two day drive. This lounger arrived and I put it in my van in the box. When I unpacked it in Miami Beach, I carefully saved the box thinking there was a good chance I would have to return it. As I have said, I am a Senior Citizen, with both knees having been replaced. I am 5 feet 4 inches and weigh 148. I very carefully fixed the straps, put this on my back, and went to the beach. I made sure I put the foot part down first, watching the top, and I made sure the the legs were locked. Before I got on it, I made sure it was pressed down in the sand, and I carefully straddled it, in the middle portion, Nothing awful happened. It did not fall with me on the beach, and it did not rip. I waited to review it until I have used it 10 times in 2 hour sessions. I will be happy if it just lasts this season. So far, no rips, and no accidents. Even the back straps have still held firm. Every day I expect them to rip, but they have not. I figure if that's the only problem, the lounger is very light and I can either have the straps sewn, or just carry the lounger. It is much lighter than the old school ones I have been using. When I get out of the lounger I have made certain to swing both legs together to the sand, twist my body, and hold on to both middle bars, and push myself up, I have had no trouble getting out that way, and have had no damage. I use am umbrella and am not trying to tan, so I have not tuned over, but just read, with the back extended and my feet flat. I do like the backpack straps. I have not used the little bag. I think that's a good idea, but I have a beach bag I like to leave right next to me, putting my phone and my kindle in and out of it, rather than having to get up and go around to the back of the lounger to get things. So far I am more than pleased with this purchase. If it rips the next time I use it, I will alter this review, but so far, very good!

Lounge is surprisingly sturdy, although not break-proof - I've had no problems with mine so far. Folds up easily, but also locks solidly in place when set up - comfortable fabric, does the job! Nice product, especially for the price.

PERFECT for watching sunsets and catching rays. Very lightweight, very easy to fold. Comfortable. Sturdy enough though I'm not sure how saggy it will get with time and I am not very heavy but I'mhoping it will hold up if I buy it as a gift for others who are heavier. Love the storage pocket. Literally the best thing I've bought in years. I've had it a month or so and I use it constantly...on the beach...on my porch...lol. Not sure how I'll clean the fabric part just yet but I'll figure that out later. I got mine off season so it was about half the regular price (around 40 bucks) and DAMN AM I HAPPY! Lol. Fantastic choice. I got a second one (also odiscounted) so I can lounge with a friend. Will be getting one for each of my family members (whenever there's a sale lol) If you have the cash though and you want a really awesome lounge chair its totally worth the full price !

I thought I finally found the perfect reclining chaise style beach chair, lightweight enough to carry down to the beach with backpack carry straps and a big storage pocket. The only negative would be that I would have to get out of the chair to re-adjust the seat back, which I was aware of and didn't mind because the chair had every other feature I was looking for. And then I tried to sit in it, and the second I did, the back popped completely upright. This occurred from every seat back position, including completely flat. I checked to make sure that the seat back was fully set in position, but it seems like the canvas is so tight that any movement on it, disengages the setting. I don't know if mine is just defective or this is a design flaw but it is going back. So disappointed. I was so hopeful this was the one...

This chair was comfortable but broke within less than a week! Was not super sturdy!

I was completely unsure as to whether or not I should purchase this but gave it a shot anyway...it's PERFECT (so far. I'll update again after a while) I've used it a total of ten times so far and is exactly like it came. Now, because of the bad reviews, I've been careful to not flop down on it or put undue pressure in concentrated areas so that may be the trick. (I'm 5'9" 140 lbs for reference). I love the fabric it's made of! It's not plastic so it doesn't make you feel all sticky and sweaty... The breezes come right through it and help you stay cool in the Sun. The legs fold out at perfect angles and both ends go neatly into each position. It's got a HUGE pocket that carries everything, has claps to keep it stable in transport and storage and when I want to go out and lay in the sun, it's got straps like a backpack so I can carry it and leave both hands-free. I live in Florida so I won't leave it in the sun (everything biodegrades) but keep it on the lanai. I'll update again after summer, as it'll get daily use from April to November. Edit: I've had this chair well over a year now and its still in perfect condition! I absolutely love this thing...one of the few, surprisingly long lasting products I've bought online!

This was a great buy. Very sturdy and comfortable. Backpack style held everything needed for a day at the beach or pool. Will definitely buy a few more.👌

Very large pocket to hold all your beachy necessities. Closes with Velcro. Backpack straps make this the easiest lounge chair to carry over distances to the beach.
