GREAT to add to games night
Great game to add to games nightBought for my son and i to play togetherPROS..Easy to learnKids can learn and teach each otherComes with great wooden foldable boardComes with the flat marble like pieces all variety of coloursComes with instructionsA tan case to tuck the game into and keep is steadyCONS..The only thing i dont like is i wish there was a tiny latch to lock the wooden board close into place. There is the Tin that you put it into to hold into place BUT there is an opened garden at the end so if you hold side wasps or upside down the game WILL fall outA design flaw for sure AND makes it hard to travel with cause if that slips out then these pieces go all over and you will lose them and missing pieces WILL effect the game as you need all of those flat marble pieces for game.Other then that what you see in the product image and what you read in the product description is correct.Great fun game

Fun for just about any age!
One day I went to pick our son up from school and noticed one of the teachers playing Mancala with a child who appeared to be about 5 or 6 years old. I'd never played Mancala before, so I asked the teacher about it, and she said, "Oh! This game is SO much fun!" I watched them play for awhile; it was apparent both teacher and student were having a good time, and neither seemed to be at any great advantage over the other.Mancala is a strategy game for 2 players, but it's also a great game for kids who are learning about numbers or who are practicing their counting. Even though it's a strategy game, it's a simple game which can be played quickly if you only have 10 or 15 minutes. It's also easy enough that just about anyone can play - which can be really wonderful for families who have older and younger children. It's nice for times when younger kids might get fidgety waiting for something - doctors appointments, they're hungry and waiting for a meal, or times when they can't go outside to play. Our family really enjoys playing games together, but we've often found ourselves in the predicament of finding games easy enough for a 5 year old, but challenging, and enough fun for kids who are older. Our family loves Apples to Apples, but our youngest was too young to read the cards. We started playing in "teams" - matching an adult with a pre-reader, and older kids playing solo. Mancala is a 2 player game - so for all the times our youngest felt a little slighted with more advanced games, we can make up for by giving him a little extra attention and "fun time" with mom or dad.Mancala does have small flat marble-like pieces called stones - if you have young children beware of the potential choking hazard.

Great thinking game, I recommend this set!
Very nice set of Mancala. Beads are pretty and the board folds in two for easy storage. I keep a rubber band around it to keep the beads from spilling. Great game to play with my 9 year old. You can google different rules for the game, we like to change it up. There are a few times the beads don't fit, but it doesn't bother our game at all. Highly recommend!

Great game for all ages!
My daughter asked me to purchase this game for her a few months back as she played it in school and really enjoyed it (she's eleven). I bought it for her, but I really wasn't sure how much fun it would be. However, I was completely AMAZED by the game's ability to challenge everyone in the house. This game appears simple, but actually requires a bit of strategy. My husband and I love it and play against one another quite frequently. I have taken it out of our "game drawer" and have given it a permanent home on the coffee table due to its frequent use. This item is very well made. I would expect it to hold up for quite some time. I highly recommend this game for any family ( just use caution around small children as the pieces may present a choking hazard).

Good Mancala Game.
I bought this to help my mother re-wire her brain after a stroke. The rules of the game are deceptively simple but provide opportunities to stretch the brain cells with logic, strategy, and even short-term memory. The game is tactile, which is helpful in building and retaining thought processes. Given the low price (and some of the reviews), I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. To answer those reviews:The stones are glass. And, yes, some were chipped upon delivery. The board closes easily if you only place 5 in each cup (on one side of the hinges) and the remainder in the end cup.The wood board is not smooth like plastic. It's wood. My board was a little rough, but not splintery. Perfectly acceptable. No consideration was given for this review. I honestly liked it.

Nostalgic game
Loved this game when I was a kid. Some of the pieces are rather large so it can make it difficult to play the game when more than four pieces are in one hole.

Nice, portable, good quality
I had been looking for a mancala for a while. I was hoping to find something "native" (made in Africa), but this one (made in China) came across and I decided to give it a try. It is solidly built, and the beads are good (and easy to replace in case they should go astray). The fact that it folds is also a plus, as it makes it easier to take it on trips.

Good Value and Good Quality
I got this for my daughter for Christmas and she loves it! She had never seen this game before but was able to learn quickly and it's a game we can play together that doesn't take hours! I like that it folds in half to keep all of the stones together with it when not in use. It's great quality and the price was even better!
