Calligraphy Starter Kit - Beginner Modern Calligraphy DIY Kit - Oblique Pen Hand Lettering with Nib

I was so excited to receive my Wildflower Art Studio calligraphy kit and it exceeded my expectations. As a busy mom I didn't have time to research the best materials to begin this hobby and I am so thankful that Wildflower Art Studio had done all of the hard work for me! I feel like with calligraphy or hand lettering the quality of the materials really makes a difference when you are learning a new skill. Everything in the kit is top notch! I also loved that they included simple instructions and lots of different practice surfaces. I cannot wait to purchase other kits from this company.

I have always been a brush or iPad calligrapher, but this kit has changed the game! I thought ink calligraphy would be difficult, but it is pretty easy! (And I’m a lefty). All the materials are very high quality, the instruction guide is good, and the presentation was beautiful! Wildflower even included a personalized name tag! Wildflower Art Studio includes free customization on all orders placed directly through their website. If you order from Amazon, you can just email them and they will send you the calligraphed name card for free. Highly recommend this kit for anyone who wants to get into ink calligraphy.

I'm totally new to calligraphy, so I can't say if this is the best kit or be nit-picky about it. All I can say is, I was able to start writing immediately, and the little booklet with beginner's instructions got me going. So, it worked well enough, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it! There's plenty of ink, the pen is comfortable to hold and seems to write well (with my limited skill). The packaging was also cute, although all the crinkle paper was a little excessive.Only drawback: It was difficult to write on the "trace" paper, as it kept moving when I tried to hold it over the letters to trace. It would be nice if these practice sheets were bound, so that they would stay in place. Then, card with the letters could be easily slipped in between sheets for tracing. I happened to have a solid notebook of plain white paper, and I found it much easier to write in that notebook than on the trace sheets.All in all-- would recommend to beginners!

The concept of having the nib of the pen where one can see a stroke as it is being made is a great feature for a beginner.The instructions and practice sheets are very helpful. I bought this for my 13 year old granddaughter and after just a short period of time she was doing quite good. The biggest problem she had was learning not to lean on her arms whilelearning a stroke. That will take practice too.I learned calligraphy many years ago and may buy this set for myself and re-learn a fun skill.

Packaging was ruined in shipping which wasn't a big deal because it is for personal use. I enjoyed using this set except my dropper didn't work to get ink from the bottle to the cup therefore I spilled it all trying to get it back into the bottle after the first use. Disappointed that I only got to use it once and now have to go find more ink. It would also be helpful to add cleaning tips in the directions. I wasn't sure if I'm supposed to rinse the pen off, scrub it, or let it dry. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

Love this entire set. I’m a beginner and it has instructions, trace paper, mini project suggestions and best of all ..actual instructions. The packaging is really cute as well. I ordered it as a gift to myself to do in my free time when I’m just relaxing. It’s really helped improve my regular handwriting as well and is just over all fun. I would highly recommend this product for folks wanting to try out calligraphy it’s affordable and you get everything you could possibly need if your just starting.

I bought this for my wife while I was out of town because she had been wanting to try this whole calligraphy thing out. The smile on her face along when I watched her open it up was worth the price alone. Then their super easy to use guide had her practicing letters and words for over 3 hours straight.She had never tried it before because she didn't know where to start. Their set up made everything super to start learning. It comes just like the picture.I hope this review counts. I have bought tons of stuff on amazon but never given something a written rating. This product deserves a write up.

I thought it would have been more because of how big the packaging was, but I don't regret getting it. The packaging was cute and perfect for what I intended for it (a gift for a friend). I wish it would have come with more than one nib and that the actual writing utensil itself would have been made from a nicer material (it reminds me of plastic from a children's toy), because then I would have felt like it was worth the money. I then remind myself that it's a starter kit for beginners and maybe that's the perfect material to use. In any case, I was surprised at how little came with the packaging, but I also think it was good for my intent.
