Thirteen ChefsProduct:Food Grade Mineral Oil for Cutting Boards, Countertops and Butcher Blocks - Food Safe and Made in the USAReview:I have used Food Grade Mineral Oil for over 20 years.I have given the Thirteen Chef’s a “test run”, and have found it to be a top quality product and with a 12 fluid ounce bottle, I consider this product to be a good value.Food grade mineral oil is used to treat the handles of wood handled knives, wooden spoons, butcher blocks, butcher block counter tops, and wooden cutting boards. The mineral oil replaces the natural oils that the Wood contains when new. Through the washing process the wooden components mentioned above the oils are leached out of the wood, causing the original color to degrade and in the process, reduces the longevity of the wood.- [ ] The treatment process is simple. Wipe the oil on the wood to be treated, rub it in for about 30 seconds, set it aside on a hard “non porous” surface ( like a dinner plate) for between 12-24 hours, and your good to go.- [ ] The only exception to this would be for the treatment of utensils which have not ever been treated. In this case, several treatments may be required to bring the item being treated back to a pleasing appearance.- [ ] In the case of wooden spoons and other wooden cooking utensils, the oil having soaked into the items being treated, gives the item more flexibility and reduces the chance of breaking a utensil which has become brittle through the loss of its natural oils.- [ ] It is not advisable to use other Food Grade oils such as oil oil or vegetable cooking oils as they do not soak into the woods cellular structure as well and tend to leave a sticky residue on the surface and the stickiness increases over time.

Brought My Old Cutting Boards Back from the Dead
I used this food-grade mineral oil to revive some 5+ year-old cutting boards that had seen better days. It was super easy to apply, totally odorless, and worked best when I let it soak in overnight. No cons to speak of — just smooth, hydrated wood. Best mineral oil I’ve used, hands down. Highly recommend if your boards are looking a little thirsty!

The Oil is fine, Amazon shipping (per usual) is terrible
Has anyone else noticed that Amazon's shipping has totally gone down the tubes over the past couple years? They are always late. Always late. As in, the delivery never, ever, arrives on the date stated when the purchase is made. This oil was packed loosly in a box and tossed around quite a bit. Enough too loosen the cap and pop the seal - making the oil leak out inside the box. Luckily, only about 20% of it got lost, so it's not worth a return.Anyways, the oil itself seems to work pretty well. I used it today on two Teakwood end-grain boards and the oil soaked in well and brought out the color of the wood nicely. I'll have to wait and see if it actually protects the boards, but it certainly looks like it's doing it's job. Would purchase again...but maybe not from Amazon unless I'm looking for a well-lubed cardboard box.

Excellent Product
Ive been using this brand for years and it's the best for cutting boards. It's odorless and flavorless, it's excellent quality, it works fantastic on all grains of cutting boards and helps to keep them clean. It's an excellent wood treatment and it lasts a long time. The price is excellent for the quality. 5 stars.

Great oil to revive wood kitchen tools
The mineral oil works great on the cutting boards and has brought each one back to life. The oil is not sticky and does exactly what it says. It does recommend waiting at least 4 hours if not 24 before using but I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Works great!! No smell
This oil is fantastic! Brought back life to all of my wooden cutting boards. The oil is light and spreads very easily and doesn’t seem to have any smell or any stickiness at all . Great quality

MINERAL OIL WORKS ON BAMBOO CUTTING BOARDS & OLD WOODEN KITCHEN TOOLS
This stuff is the bomb, pretty amazing stuff as far as mineral goes. Of course I would prefer pretty lingerie or a romantic dinner but hey you can't always get what you want. I used it on my 18" x 24" Kikcoin Bamboo Cutting Board. Applied it generously to all surfaces including the edges, handle cut-outs and drip reservoir, propped it up on its side and left for my night on the 10 hour graveyard shift. When I returned the next morning my expectations were shattered, instead of the pale blonde bamboo cutting board I had left the previous evening I had a rich looking finish, a subtle satin finish and was totally impressed. Also-I wiped all the excess mineral oil that was on my hands onto & into an old wooden spoon I've had for years-shazaam! The old wooden spoon had metamorphized into a brand new richly colored kitchen tool that I can brag about here on The Amazon Review board.
