MateoJo Travel Mug (Coffee Brown)

When I first received this travel mug I wasn't sure I'd like the lid folding over from the top with no way to really detach it. After using it, that's not an issue. Once open it locks in place with a friction lock. It doesn't flop around and it doesn't get in the way. When you're done it's easy to close.It keeps coffee hot literally all day long. It doesn't leak. It's easy to use. A bargain for price.I can't wait to fill it with hot coffee, throw it in a bag on the motorcycle and stop someplace nice with a hot cup of coffee waiting for me.Perfect. Highly recommended. Get one...NOW!The customer service is fantastic. They've sent several emails asking if it arrived, offering to help if I'm unhappy about anything, asking if I have any questions, etc. A lot of businesses could learn a thing or two from these guys.UPDATE Feb 2017: I ordered the first of these mugs in June 2016. I ordered 5 more for gifts a few months after that.The lid on my first mug got to the point where it couldn't be tightened. It basically would just spin on top of the mug. I sent an email to MateoJo on a Sunday evening. Much to my surprise my email was answered by Aaron in about an hour. I had asked to purchase just a lid for my mug. However he sent me a coupon code for a free replacement mug from Amazon.Hard to beat the combination of a quality item and fantastic customer service.

Love this thing! Filled 10oz with coffee, then a splash of milk. It didn't fill all the way to the top, which is how I prefer it. You could probably fit 15oz in here, if not a little more.Coffee made at 7am, by the time I got home at 6pm, I had 1/4 of the mug left, and it was still HOT. Not like pipping hot, but if I blew at the liquid, steam would come out. Of course, I didn't open/close the bottle through the day, shake it, or drink too too much, so that's a factor. Either way, this mug retains heat REALLY REALLY well! Definitely spill proof, as well. The little latch and button mechanism are adorable, and the cap flips back with a spring load, so it doesn't smack your face when you tilt the mug to drink. My only complaint would be how lightly the latch sits over the button. I can flip it easily and it's weak enough that I'm afraid to put this mug in my backpack for fear that the latch will come undone and something will hit the button to spill everything! I do wish there was a carabiner keychain so that I could easily carry it in my hand even in the winter.Otherwise, if you don't mind carrying it by hand, there's no threat of the latch coming undone, and the seal is EXCELLENT. I did the shake test filled with hot hot liquid, shaking it upside-down, VIGOROUSLY! Great product :)

UPDATE - After about a month or so of owning this mug, and washing in the dishwasher, I have noticed some of the paint start to chip away. I've never dropped the mug, and it's happening in various spots around the thing, so I'm sure it's the dishwasher. Not a huge deal, but a little annoying.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Great travel mug. I love that it keeps the coffee hot for a long time, so I don't have to chug it before it gets cold (which in turn is better for my health, and means I'll drink less throughout the day). I also like that it's dishwasher safe. I've washed it a few times now and it still works just as well (keeps coffee hot all morning) and none of the designs have faded.My only complaint is that it doesn't come in other colors, and that it doesn't fit under our Keurig machine (though most travel mugs don't). The company did tell me they're working on new colors soon.

This travel mug replaced a Thermos I had used for 25 years. The Thermos worked great at keeping coffee warm but it was designed long before cars had drink caddies built into them. It was awkward to carry and relatively heavy too. There was no way for me to keep it upright in the car. But I never found an adequate travel mug that was able to replace it. The Thermos finally was finally broken and I had to replace it. And the MateoJo was the travel mug I chose to replace it. I've used it every day since it arrived.I've found that the MateoJo keeps coffee warm as well as the old Thermos did but it has some advantages over the Thermos:1. It fits the container caddy in my car (the Thermos didn't).2. It is very light-weight compared to the Thermos.3. It looks a lot more rugged than my old Thermos.And, best of all, the Mateojo was a lot less expensive than many of the other travel mugs available on the market now. It was a great find and I highly recommend it, based on my experience with it!

I'm really happy considering I've tried other brands that spilled, leaked or were hard to clean.This is a really great travel mug, very well constructed, light and easy to carry. Cover and sipper are really well designed, no spilling or leaking! And with a nice clean design inside and out, it's really easy to clean. Did I mention it's really attractive too? The only issue is the paint is peeling a bit on the bottom, so it might come off over time, which would be a shame since it's a very nice looking mug.

This is a great travel mug. It's a nice, sleek design and the lid is great. It stays open while you drink & doesn't flip closed even though it looks like it would. The latch is great too - stays closed so no spills. It keeps liquids hot for about 3-4 hours which is a lot better than any other travel mug I own and fits well in my car's beverage holders. A really good product at a good price. Other colors would be nice.
