Dream Dictionary: An A-to-Z Guide to Understanding Your Unconscious Mind

Dream Analysis
I purchased this book as I had purchased a cell phone app Dream Dictionary that was very useful and unlike and other dream dictionary I've seen. I looked up the app info and found the author to be Tony Crisp. The phone Dream Dictionary is a great quick tool, but only contains a small fraction of the topics available in the book.Tony Crisp's Dream Dictionary will really help you to interpret your dreams. It doesn't offer a black and white definition of a symbol in your dream. Rather, you will find that symbols can represent similar, yet different, meanings depending on how those symbols were featured in the dream and how you did or did not intereact with those symbols. Tony Crisp gives more information and asks just the right questions to help you discover what is going on in your mind as you sleep. Furthermore, for dreams that leave you with a bad feeling or are unresolved, you will often find useful suggestions that will allow you to resolve those issues in your waking life.Thrown in are a few pieces of information regarding the function of dreams and sleep in our lives. As I'm a great reader of books about brain formation, brain function, and neuroscience, I have found nothing to date to argue any of the points he has made.I find most dream dictionaries to be very "new age" and metaphysical. But the Tony Crisp Dream Dictionary is more analytical in its approach, somewhat like having your very own therapist to help you sort out your mind's thoughts.

Good Condition
I've always wanted to know what my dreams meant. There are so many interpretations in this book. Good value.

The E-book is hard to navigate
I am writing this review in hopes that the publisher will add an index...or links...or sections.... something to navigate though the e-book.I didn't want to wait for shipping so I ordered the e-book, kindle edition. The content is great (the little that I saw in the few hours I owned it), but the e-book is hard to navigate and that is why I returned it and ordered the paper version. Anytime I put a word in the search bar, it came up with so many results it was a challenge to sift through it all. This book came highly recommended. I am excited to receive the paperback version in the mail. I think it will be easier to flip through the dictionary with the physical version.

Quite a good investment!
I have owned a hard copy of this book since the early 1980s; it is much-loved, well-used, and falling apart at this point. It's well-organized, though it is in British English, with all the spelling ("kerb" for "curb") and phrasing oddities that implies. However, if you wonder why the heck you were dreaming of serving Aunt Mildred oysters last night, this little beauty can help you to find out exactly that. Tony Crisp is a Jungian analyst by profession, and his "Dream Dictionary" gives many possibilities for each entry, and has some very useful longer-view advice as well (hint: in your dream, you were you, Aunt Mildred, the butler if he did the handing around, the oysters, and the blue Delft plate they were served from). If in your life you are facing a difficult period, having this handy can give you unexpected insights into where and how you are.

Not written for women
Also not written for the times. Who actually dreams of Nicholas Humphrey and the cronies therein. Too wordy and vague. Dock was not there, but was under ocean. The layout is clumsy. In a world of instant gratification this reads like a 1950's version of dream analysis and the interpretations are negative like the 12,000 dreams written by G. H. Miller. This was written after only a cursory look through. My favorite so far is the book called dream mode online. Use for free, but I will probably buy it for 26.00 later on in the year as reading online is a pain. Thank you

Best dream dictionary out there
This is my go-to dream dictionary. I have been using this for at least 15 years now. I've tried other books but Tony Crisp is spot on and has the best explanations and the most details. This book is not hoity toity. I bought this copy for a friend who used my book so often she needed her own copy.

Wonderful aid to dream interpretation!
This is a wonderful book for interpreting dreams. I have been interpreting dreams for over twenty years and this is the best book I've found. It was obviously written by someone who knows the subconscious (aka unconscious) and how it works. There are multiple suggestions for every symbol so you can pick the one that fits your dream. There are also some excellent exercises for helping you interpret your own dreams. The exercises are scattered through the book so you have to look through it to find them but it is worth the time.

Scary Accurate: Definitely a Good Read
This is scary accurate and I seriously read it after every dream. If you don't want to expose your deepest emotions to yourself, don't read this book. Reading this could help many people over come personal battles simply by lucid dreaming. A recommendation for the author: PLEASE write a book on how to lucid dream. So many people I've talked with have only lucidly dreamed once or twice. It is the ultimate form of self-healing. I recommend this as a good read for everyone.

Tony Crisp did a great job of interpreting lots of the symbols
Every morning when I wake up (and remember my dream) I go, write down the key symbols and objects, and look it up in the book. Tony Crisp did a great job of interpreting lots of the symbols. Its best to write down key words for each symbol definition, then try to connect everything at the end. Easier than I thought. Love this book.

A GUIDE
As it is, A GUIDE. Not all predictions maybe true all the time, sometimes your nightmares and dreams are useless as it's just a connection of thought you were thinking before sleeping which have been weaved properly. Until the time you actually dream something different which makes you question why was it like that and when you're not able to find an answer, then & then only, open this book.Until then, there's a lot of things a person's mind can do. So, explore it.
