I took a chance. It fit.

Ordered this to replace a broken clamp on my Yamaha DTX practice kit. It fits and works fine.That said, there are three noticeable differences between this clamp and the original. First, it adjusts with a drum key as opposed to the thumb screws on the original - no big deal. Second, there is only one adjusting screw on each "arm" of the device while the original has two on the part of the clamp that goes all the way through - typically the vertical part. Third, the original has little reinforcing flanges on the shoulders of the "dead end" section of the item and this one does not.Overall, this item is probably not quite as robust as the original, but it costs only $10 while the only original one I could find was $45 - and it was out of stock! Bottom line, if I was going to use it on a gigging kit where it was being set up and taken down frequently and exposed to the hazards of life on the road I'd go with the original, but for use on my practice kit that stays set up all the time it's a real bargain!

The media could not be loaded. I’m a drummer with a 7 piece drum kit attached to 2 drum racks. Moving these around on stage at some venues can often be a challenge. The rack itself is lightweight but when adding toms and cymbals it gets quite heavy trying to move my drum racks from one place to another on stage. Adding wheels will make movement so much easier.So, I was looking for a cheaper way to add wheels to both of my side drum racks. The wheel attachment that Gibraltar sells are roughly $26 bucks a pop. For my setup that’s 8 individual foot ends which would cost me $208 bucks. I purchased 4 of these rack clamps from Amazon as a test for the left side of my drum rack. I then went to my local hardware store and purchased a 1 m x 1.5” of pvc piping, bolts and wheels. Total cost for everything to include the 4 rack clamps was roughly $65. What a great save.So I will be ordering 4 more rack clamps for the right side of my drum rack and I still have more than enough PVC piping leftover for the other 4 clamps/wheels. Which will probably cost me about $55 bucks. Half the price and I’m happy!!
