I developed IT band syndrome following hip replacement surgery. This issue has been largely unrecognized and unreported for us. We need to ice the whole band from hip to knee, not just the knee, or just the bursa at the hip, as is known and typical for long distance runners and cyclers. This hip brace cold pack has been excellent for this, and about the only thing out there that covers the whole band. The brace is soft, covered neoprene which fits to the body. I am female, 5” 3”, and it covers all the way to the knee. There are 3 straps, one at the waist/hip level, and two on the thigh. The fit is wonderful. The ice pack fits perfectly into a well made sleeve and stays put. It is wider at the top so it can reach the piriform and glute med, which can also be a problem for us. This brought the needed relief to settle down the IT band so that I could continue my recovery. I can walk around with it on. The whole brace does seem to provide some needed stabilization which was a bonus. This could probably be done using the brace alone without the cold pack. I have only used it for a cold pack, so can’t speak to the heat. It has been great for me.

The hot/cold pack works well. I understand this reversible left to right so makes the s-hook velcro side is optional. That said, there needs to be some material or other to attach on the inside s-hook side so it doesn't abrade the skin or attach to clothing which makes the application/use frustrating and sometimes very difficult.

It serves it's purpose. The ice pack is great for when you are sitting or laying down. But if you are walking around, it slides down whether or not the ice pack is in it.

This product was very helpful after hip surgery for reducing swelling and discomfort. Excellent product. The inserts fold up nicely for placing in the freezer. It having a sleeve to put the cold packs in was great. The physical therapists reviewed what items were at home and liked this product.

Ok price and OK delivery time. It works as advertised. It gives a nice relief to the pain when used with ice.
