Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX6 - 4-deck DJ Controller with 2 Track Playback Decks, 2 Sample Playback Decks, and Built-in USB Audio Interface

I have the DDJ 400 for a few years now. I felt I have outgrown it and needed more features in my controller. Pioneer launched the FLX 6 recently and I watched all the professional reviews and decided to bite the bullet and get one. I was contemplating between the DDJ 800 and the FLX 6. The 800 costs more and has only 2 physical decks. Other than better audio connections and probably better quality materials, I thought the FLX 6 offered a better bang for your buck for all that it offered versus the 800. Quality of materials and finishing are superb, although they are mostly plastic. Full sized jog wheels with it's LED track position indicator is a nice touch. Layout is similar to all professional/club Pioneer controllers, helps shorten the learning curve when moving from another Pioneer DJ controller. The plus feature is the Merge FX knob. It has 4 preset effects, which is also customizable, that you can use in your transitions or for the purpose of adding multiple effects in your mix. Very helpful. It also comes with a booth output which is a great option to have if you want to connect up another set of monitors for your booth or just having 4 speakers. Connections for monitors are RCA though unlike the 800 which has balanced output connections through XLRs. Pitch sliders are same size as the 400, so no big deal. There's also a jog cutter mode and when activated you become an 'expert' scratch DJ! That is cool! Deck 4 can also be switched to your sampler with the push of the button. Works with Rekordbox and Serato Pro. However I am not sure if you can or how to customize the Merge FX with Serato but in Rekordbox that option can be accessed in the settings. I use Rekordbox exclusively so I can't comment on using it with Serato. I am a bedroom DJ, producing mixes for family and friends and for fun. For a $600 controller with all these features I think is a great buy for someone like me. I think it is a good upgrade from a smaller beginner-type controller like the 400 or SB3. Great buy!

Making another purchase because the one that came in has sensitivity issues in the jog wheels. I came out from a DDJ SB3 adn the jog wheels are nice and sensitive so that you can ever so slightly turn the jog wheels and it will pick up the signal in my program. This one however will not respond in that way, and you'll have to turn the jog wheels slightly faster, which then you lose a lot of control at that speed.

Love the board, has everything you need to learn or even if you’re a professional DJ. The merge FX is awesome, too bad it’s only available on this model.

Huge! I love the size it self and the size of the jog wheels! Looks more professional than my previous Ddj I just upgraded from the 400 to the flx6 took a few hours to get used to the 4 decks in the mixer section but all in all it’s easy to catch on! I like the smooth look grayish texture I love the merge effect! Not so good with the jog cutter effect yet maybe because I’m not used to stretching at all so it could take some getting used to all in all I’d said as a beginner I’d recommend getting this. I started with the Ddj 400 it was excellent but I wanted something more bigger and more presentable and this is it

I spent so much time trying to figure out the direction ai wanted to go. Controlled for hundred, 3000’s, somewhere in between? I am super happy I took this route. It will be an easy transition to the clubs and festivals.

Tenía mis dudas por algunos comentarios, sobre el ligero delay sin embargo no he experimentado cosa alguna; funciona de maravilla con Rekordbox aún no lo pruebo en Serato pero seguro funciona igual. Usé este controlador en un evento con polvos de colores, tuve que limpiarlo exhaustivamente y hasta ahora ningún problema; si tuviese salidas balanceadas sería un controlador perfecto, sin embargo es excelente para quienes quieran mudar de dos a 4 canales. Los efectos extra le dan un granvalor agregado

This controller is a really great idea for what it's offering but the mixing accuracy of sustaining mixes in real time really requires a lot of work due to its in accuracy as other controllers which I use are very accurate, and the looping is ok but even that needs more work to get right as other controllers are much better, the power to it as 5v is run straight from your laptop via the USB a good idea as that lowers its latency which I noticed, the other good thing is that it offers two softwares to run with it as Serato and Record box I would try both but Serato is my preference, this controller in my perspective is a budget version due to its cost and for beginners its a great start for professionals it can be a bit cumbersome but can be utilised, it's very lightweight and I would recommend in purchasing a dust cover protector plus if you want to transport it in any way purchase the hard case here which seems to be the only one on offer at present.
