An EDC tool you never thought you'd need.
It's such a simple concept; a doorstop. Easy, right? Or you could just get something to block the door so it at least doesn't close behind you. The unfortunate part us that most of the time, you won't find anything in the near vicinity of the door you wish to keep propped open.A traditional doorstop? Those can sometimes be finicky to use, especially with slick, smooth floors and they can be easily lost.A block of wood? A stone? You might find these, most likely outside of a building but not always guaranteed. But do you ever plan on carrying a stone or block of wood with you, on your person, in your bag, or pocket? Probably not. This is where Militar comes in and offer their truly ingenious, robust, lightweight and extremely portable Emergency Doorstop. The ingenious way to deploy this device is Militaur's recommended 1 of 3 ways; 1st - Place it in the side of the door (any height on the edge of the door side with the knob/handle is, that faces the doorframe). 2nd - On top of the door. The closer to the hinged side, the slightly more ajar the doorway will be. Finally, the 3rd way - Place it on top of a door hinge itself. If you use multiple Militaur's Doorstop Devices, you can essentially have about 4 devices deployed on a single door, pretty much guaranteeing that the door will never close fully, until the devices are removed.Being made of a very tough, thick rubber material, these doorstops are waterproof and can be used dozens of times, as long as the rubber shape stays structurally sound. Because it's made of durable rubber, it should last quite a while, but as it gets used (and abused) it will eventually break apart, as does anything that is constantly put under tremendous strain and is man-made.I wouldn't worry though; unless you're using it several times a day, 365 days a year you probably won't need to replace it. It all depends on how you use it. Using it to jam a doorway open but gently letting the door close will have the tool last much longer than if you always let the door Slam onto the doorstop device. This is an easy tool to carry on your person, in your pocket, your bag, your keys or anywhere you wish to attach it to.That's not to say it's strictly just a doorstop. You can use for anything you can imagine, within reason of the design, of course. Put it on top of a car door you don't want to shut accidentally. Use it to protect or prevent a rolling on a smooth surface. Place it under something to act as a leveling device. Place some sheets of plexiglass together and temporarily keep them bound, while you rest them on a wall, making it easier to grab them from the wall later.... It's up to your imagination.Overall, excellent product. I will buy more, as I see no reason to not have multiple doorstops to use.I wonder if Militaur's has these sets in all black or all hi-viz orange?

MUST have for every first responder!
I believe that this is one of the most important things to have on your duty belt! They’re so lightweight and small that you don’t even know that you have it on you, until you think about what to throw into the door for the next arriving units. I personally love the orange one because I’ve forgotten more than a couple of the black ones after leaving the scene, so the orange is good and usually catches my eye. I’ve used these on some heavy metal doors and none have ever been damaged. I have however had a couple times that the knot came out why hanging on my belt, so now I just add a little electrical tape onto the knot and haven’t had an issue since.

Convenient for being prepared
These are good quality products. Made well, they hold up well. There's no sign of the material degrading as one sits in my car all the time. They're probably a little pricey for what they are, but that's the way things go. They aren't the type of products that you could easily make on your own either so I can't knock the company for overcharging. They have a pretty specific use and if you want them, these are the ones to get

They take up less room than your Zyns!
These are great for first responders. I’m a “junk” minimalist as far as what I carry on myself at work but these are small and easier to carry (i.e. unnoticeable) compared to the traditional door chocks/wedges. I carry one on my strap and two in the radio pocket on my coat. I use the one on my strap constantly on medicals/fire alarms. They’ve held up well for about a year now. And if they do wear out they’re cheap to replace considering how much I use them to air condition peoples’ front lawns…Still carry my ole’ reliable wood wedge on the lid cause rubber doesn’t do well under fire but these make for a good alternative the 99 runs in between.
