When I originally ordered this, I honestly thought my boys would be done in less than a day. It's been over a month and they are still working on it (see picture of what's left over). It's entertaining but a bit messy. Still worth it!

It was the first thing he picked to destroy on Christmas, which makes it the best gift. (I won’t be listening to any disagreements from non-aunties.) I’ve bought him a few before because he loves decimating giant dirt eggs, and he told me that this one is the best one I’ve found. (More points in the Best Aunt column, clearly.)Full disclosure: We’re aware that most of these egg items (including this one, I believe) normally say to soak them for at least an hour or more before diving into them so that the shell is softer, but my nephew revels in chaos and making things harder for himself, so his opinion is formed entirely on the practically brick form of this cannon ball. He’s already asked me for a second because he enjoyed banging it on the driveway so much. 10/10 arm workout.(Also, I knew when I got it for him that he’d not give a single bother about the game or information cards that come with it, but that’s fine because I did. 10/10 aunt distraction.)

We bought this for my son and it was a hit with him. It occupied him for some time and he loved getting the dinosaurs out of the rock. However, this is messy. Seems obvious but it’s super super fine dirt that travels everywhere. We setup a dedicated table in the kitchen anticipating the mess. It wasn’t enough. You practically need a quarantine area when playing with this toy. Hands, clothes, socks, shoes, all covered. Anyway, it was fun and I even enjoyed trying to dig out the dinos but recommended this as an outdoor activity making it a challenge to gift during cold weather months. Also, maybe don’t gift it since you’ll be gifting a messy headache (warn the recipient!). Overall, the toy itself is fun and a good value for the money because it will occupy a kid for hours. Ask yourself if that’s worth clean up time :)

I ordered this for my 6 year old grandson for Christmas and it was a total waste of money! There was not 1 dinosaur in the entire egg... not 1. So for over an hour my grandson, who is on the spectrum, was anxiously awaiting to find little toy dinosaurs and all that he had was a pile of dirt! Very disappointing toy for the both of us!

If you're giving this to a three year old they will need your help digging because the clay is an excellent challenge! Just right for my three kids ages 3,5, and 7, and the neighbor boy who is 9. They all sat in the yard- don't do this indoors without some serious prep! I highly recommend doing this outdoors, esp if you have water nearby to rinse muddy hands. The kids had a great time and the dinos, though tiny and simple, are cute and the matching cards are great too. We followed the instructions and soaked the egg for ten minutes before tackling.

I got these for my kids for Christmas. I thought they would be cute. Instead what I got was a big pile of mud everywhere. Huge big mess . So if you have a desire for there to be tan clay EVERYWHERE pleade buy this product

Got this for my grandson’s 4th birthday. He is a huge dinosaur fanatic and loved this very much. His mommy asked me where I got it so she can order him another one.
