Nostalgic Warehouse Ball-Tip Residential Door Hinge with Square Corners, 3.5"

I purchased these to replace the old beat up and painted to death hinges on all the doors in my 100 year old house! These work perfect and were a perfect fit! I do have solid, 5 panel wooden doors and these are quality and heavy duty enough to manage my doors just like the old ones. The metal color I ordered is right on, all the hinges match one another. Great find!

Replace your silver ones with these

Good hinge for hard to find nickel color. I bought 2 for replacement of existing hinges, and had to exchange one because I couldn’t remove the pin. Bought my own screws.

This hinge is not a good fit if you are looking for a replacement to hang a solid wood door. Though in the picture it looks like a traditional ball top hinge and is a traditional 3.5 or 4 inch measure the plate is thin and the ball pin is also so it is not sturdy enough to hold a solid wood door. Disappointed and had to return. I guess I should have known by the price.

So this seems like an ok hinge if you just want it to look antique. I was trying to replace the old rusty hinges on my 1930s bathroom door. This is was not as thick as the old hinges so it didn’t work for me. I’m no handyman so messing around with shims to get it right seemed above my skill level.

These hinges replaced the original builders hardware in our old bungalow. It’s not a perfect match but the styling is close enough. The metal is a little thinner than the original hardware, but it should not effect the performance of the hinge. The included screws were not long enough to secure the hardware in our old doors, I replaced the screws with a set about 1/2” longer. Good purchase so far.
