Beam n Read LED 6 Hands-Free Pilots Night Vision Light with 6 Red LEDs

i bought this to use for astronomy purposes to preserve my night vision. however, it only has a single strap that goes behind the head but no strap that goes over the top top of the head. as a result, when it cantilevers out from the forehead, the weight of the batteries forces it to tilt down. There is no way to keep it level. This was a complete waste of money and this product should be avoided at all costs. I'm surprised that Amazon even allows this to be sold through their website. It will make me think twice about buying a product through Amazon again.

beware - it's only red - I thought you could take the cover off and get white bulbs - not - there's no real reason for the added red filter cover - they are red bulbs with a red cover - great product overall if you want only red light. search elsewhere if you want not red light!

Great for working around the telescope at night! So far, it's great! I'm a retired pilot/ flight instructor, and am not sure how functional this would be in an aircraft!

As a pilot car driver working the night shift, this came in handy for working on paperwork and reading, I am light sensitive in the dark and this made things a lot easier on me.

This is an OK device. It's made out of cheap plastic and doesn't have strong "fit", especially the battery cover. It will serve its function well, but I think I'll have to be careful about where I put it in my flight bag so it doesn't break.

This device saves your night vision and does it well.

Nifty item that does what it's supposed. Great for looking at star charts and keep your eyes dark adapted. Looks to be well made.
