This is value for money and great taste and good quality and so versatile that I just add soy and oyster sauce with a little chilli and lime and then any stir fry is first class.

Great versatile paste
A wonderful paste consisting of fermented soybeans and salted chillies. The paste gives a great savouriness to the cooking and a distinct heat from the chillies.Have been using it for years now in different applications. Useful for not just stir frying, but also can be added to sauces as they are cooked to give it that special taste.

Nice as an ingredient not on its own
A word of caution this is very salty. I used 3 tablespoons of this paste which was called up as one of the ingredients in a chilli oil recipe. I left out the salt that was called up in same recipe so it worked out fine.

Must have ingredient in the kitchen
I cook spicy Chinese cuisine sometimes, and this Toban Djan gives a kick and nice flavour to the dish. Highly recommend it!

Safety seal/button was broken/popped, so it is unsafe to eat.Cannot return item so it was a waste of money.

Essential Chinese Ingredient
Working our way through a Chinese cookbook. This is an essential ingredient for a lot of the recipes. This was really hard to find in the shops, bought and delivered within a couple of days from Amazon.
