Model-350A fits perfectly in HP Elitebook 1050 G1, works and looks as if it was OEM
As the title says this adapter Model-350A fits perfectly in the HP Elitebook 1050 G1, works and looks as if it was OEM. This particular powerhouse of a laptop already has two m2 ssd slots, so this effectively gives a third drive with a large microSD card (great for removable backup). The BaseQI adapter sits perfectly flush with the housing, and is easily extracted with a fingernail or any small edge to pull it back out. I'm a fan, and bought another for my partner.

Very handy, cost-effective solution for expanding SB2 storage; doesn't protrude at all - Great!
So I can vouch that this little adapter is quite functional and effective as a purchase still in 2022. Rather than buying the latest iPad, I realized that for my needs the older Surface Book 2 was a better fit for my primary uses. So with a simple, high quality 512MB mini SD card (separate purchase) and this adapter, was able to quickly expand the memory of my rig. (The card I purchased was already formatted, but I re-formatted it so that the card would not be recognized as removable storage but viewed as an internal drive (like a partition / folder but treated as single unit, as some software doesn't play well with saving to removable storage). From comments when I was researching the product, it seems that some customers may have inserted it the wrong way and forced it, in some cases causing damage. Just take a moment to ensure you have it aligned the right way and insert it gently, doesn't need to be forced. It sits flush and blends in quite well from a design / aesthetic perspective. Very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it. On a related note, I also purchased the Skinomi full body protector (film), also available here on Amazon, as bit of sleek and effective protection. Also highly recommended.

Makes the Surface Book series storage so much easier.
My two 13" Microsoft Book computers, the original and the Book 3, are fast handy and mobile but they only used full size SD Cards. They stick out too much to leave in while mobile in the case.Just like the pics in the ad it takes a micro SD card sideways, so it hardly sticks out at all, and lets me keep it in all the time so no hassles for extra storage. I have swapped cards more than a few times without any issues. Speeds were good too!Easy to use and more durable than you would think. Works perfectly.

Perfectly blends-in with my Surface Book 3 but only one minor flaw
Let’s get the only (minor) con out of the way first...I only have one minor complaint about this adapter (which does not warrant returning it, since it’s perfect in every other way) - I need a thin blade or knife to remove it, even though the description said no tools necessary to remove it.I do not however plan on frequently removing the adapter - I always intended it to act as a semi-permanent extra storage for my Surface Book 3 , but it’s worth mentioning that unless you have big nails, you can’t actually pull it out with your fingers. You would need to stick the blade into the small groove on the top side, and then pull out the adapter.Other than that, the adapter fits my needs perfectly! It matches the color of my Surface Book 3 on the exterior side. Also, once inserted, nothing sticks out of my laptop (it is flush on the edge). You need to however be careful about how you insert the microSD into the adapter, and how you insert the adapter into the laptop. There were no instructions about any of that, so I used the default rule of thumb for Sd cards - connectors always get inserted facing downwards - and that applies to both the micro sd into the adapter, and the adapter into the laptop.I’ve attached pictures of what I think may be helpful to see.

Pretty good - if you get a good one.
Update May 25th, 2017:I interacted with the company support via email when my adapter would not read my brand new Samsung 128 gig card. I could put the card in the shipped SD adapter and my SurfaceBook would read it just fine. They agreed it sounded defective and sent me a replacement, and asked me to send mine back so they could run tests on it. I appreciated that (as I am a professional in the technical field), so I did.The replacement adapter came in what is the inner packaging for the card. Obviously opened. I looked carefully at the outside gold contacts on the adapter and there was a slight blemish you would expect if you plugged it into a card slot. This is what I had hoped would happen. They tested it would work before they sent it to me.So it works. My file copies onto the card are very fast, in the range of about 70 megabytes a second. So the adapter isn't inducing any problems with this card. At this point I am happy with the adapter and will be leaving it in place. I'll be using the space as a backup location for my files / code / documents. A SurfaceBook can die at any time. If you don't have a backup of your data that you can have outside of it, then you just lost the game. Using this with a big enough card as your removable backup will safety net for when that happens.I would not suggest you keep pulling this thing out and swapping cards in it. This was built to be flush to the surface of the SurfaceBook. It is possible to extract the adapter with your finger nail. But each time you do, you add a little more wear and tear on it. So keep that kind of swapping to a minimum if possible and it will last a whole lot longer. Why four stars? The only thing I could ding them on is quality control. One person gets a bad one, you say "well, that was unexpected". But when more start popping up, then you know you have a problem somewhere. With an adapter this simple, that should be so unlikely to happen that when it does, it should also be: "well, that was unexpected".Note that there are absolutely no quality control concerns with the physical device itself. It is well made in that aspect.------------------------I don't normally write reviews this quick, but when it doesn't work - may as well. I have had it in hand for 4 hours now.I bought mine and a new Samsung 128 gig micro SD card for it. Put them together, put it in my Surface Book, and nothing shows up. Which isn't quite true. In Windows 10 device manager, it shows an SD card device connected, but as if there was no 'drive' in it.Take it all out, place the card into the Samsung supplied SD card adapter and into the Surface Book, and it works just fine.Take out another 128gb MicroSD card I have in a Surface Pro, and have been using for months. Nothing. Use a 64gb card I have laying around. Nothing. Put them all in the Samsung adapter - they all work just fine. (all my other cards are SanDisk)So you would think 'well, its dead then'. And here is where it gets weird. If I put a 128 MEGAbyte card in it, then that pops up just fine.So something is going wrong. I'll try and see if the manufacturer will directly interact with me to resolve. Otherwise it is a risky purchase I don't advise yet.If you are looking for an aluminum hole filler to plug that gap, well, then this $25.00 gap filler fits right in and flush too. A bit much for that task though.
