Aphogee Hair Care Double Bundle – Two-Step Protein Treatment (4 fl oz) & Balancing Moisturizer (8 fl oz)

I recently went to a salon to have my hair colored. I had a conversation with the stylist ahead of time about my expectations and concerns, most notably that I was anxious about having my hair bleached before it was dyed cobalt blue. I had a bad experience with it in the past when another stylist overprocessed it. I have very curly, fine hair ("Irish curls"). This stylist reassured me that they use very good products (Matrix) and I wouldn't have to worry about overprocessing. Long story short, she overprocessed my hair. It was fine while dry, but the color was coming out of my hair very fast, and the texture was rough while wet. I was very upset to watch the cobalt blue I loved so much fade within two washes to an aqua color. It was still pretty but not what I wanted. I remembered after my hair was overprocessed the first time that I had used a product that fixed it called Ion 2-Minute Keratin Reconstructor. It was a miracle product that I chose to try while considering Aphogee. It seemed like an easier product to use, and it did the trick. This time around, I decided to go with Aphogee. There wasn't a particular reason for this choice other than I didn't want to go to the local store. I'm really glad I got this. It worked just as well as the Ion product. My hair felt better than it did before I went to the salon, so I think it needed the protein treatment for a while. I have two tips for those about to use this. First, the protein treatment (step one) is very runny, though not as thin as water. You'll have a much easier time by putting it into a spray bottle and spraying it into your hair until it's soaked all over. Then use a comb to distribute it through your hair so you don't accidentally miss any spots. I used a standard hair dryer to dry it. I didn't move my head at all, because your hair can't be moved much during the drying process. Don't touch your hair during this step other than to verify that all sections of your hair have fully dried. I have long hair, and I found that I wasn't drying the ends at all, so I had to focus on them. Once your hair is fully dry, get in the shower and rinse it under warm water. Follow-up immediately with step two: the conditioner. It's important that you leave it in your hair for the full time period (2 minutes) to restore your hair's moisture balance. I set a timer on my phone, but you could also use a kitchen timer or Alexa device. Voilà! Your hair will be restored! As noted on the bottle, there's no need to use this more often than once every 6 weeks, as additional treatments won't be effective and the product will simply rinse off your hair and down the drain. If you need a good protein treatment Aphogee is your girl. Follow the steps and only use when needed or once every other month for beginners the results are amazing. This is my go to everytime my hair looks weak. The hair will leave a good healthy shine, curls will come back bouncy, and no tangles.

This product set worked on day one. After years of bleaching my hair for years it started breaking like crazy. The amount of hair that was on the floor reminded me of postpartum and it scared me, a lot. I started looking at each piece of hair and noticed there weren't many root balls, but lots of hair; that's when I knew it was breaking. I did some research and found this product. Before using the product my hair looked dry and thin, it was so embarrassing. After the first wash/treatment my hair looked healthy and vibrant again, like the issue had disappeared. The process is long so I did mine over the weekend, but the results are definitely worth it!

I didn't know what to expect with this product. So I read instructions and got prepared for this, but I was not prepared for smell and sticky mess of the first step. I am tactile (touch/texture) and smell sensitive so, the first step was kind of torturous, the second step smells much better and the end result of how much better my hair felt, does kind of make up for the stinky, sticky first step.

My hair always feels stronger and healthier after using this treatment. It helps reduce breakage, adds moisture back into my hair, and leaves it feeling soft without weighing it down. The shampoo and conditioner work great together, and a little goes a long way. Definitely a staple in my hair care routine.

Let me preface this by saying I have never once written a review about a product before even ones that I love after 10 years buying from amazon. This stuff is making me write my very first review. I have thin, naturally wavy dirty blonde hair. I have colored my hair black every couple of months for the past 10ish years. I don't use heat very often anymore and I cut my hair every couple of months as well. The past few months, my hair has been feeling so dead and damaged. To a point where it was freaking out because even after a trim, the damage and breakage was so severe. I've tried every expensive high-end product. Olaplex didn't do a single thing for it. I've tried hair, masks and vitamins and supplements. After I would shower, my ends would dry quickly and be frizzy and corse. My hair has always been pretty soft and healthy. This stuff literally saved my hair. Im not kidding. If you're wondering if you should buy this, you absolutely should. Its like magic in a bottle. My curly/wavy texture is back. My ends are super soft, the flyaways are gone. My hair is back to sleek and soft. Im telling you, if you feel like you need to chop all of your hair off because it's just not coming back to life, buy this stuff. And for this price point? I feel like I went to a salon and had my hair professionally fixed. I wish I took before and after pictures. Seriously buy this stuff if you need to save your hair!!!!

I don’t normally write reviews but I had to for this one. This product literally saved my hair. After a visit with my salon (whom I used to go to as a teen- first mistake since it’s been so long!) and requesting highlights/balayage (I had very dark hair so I knew this wouldn’t be done in one session which was fine), we got there! Not after having my hair in foils for AN HOUR AND A HALF. My hair was absolutely FRIED. And not only did I know it then, but she even went as far as suggesting layers (which I’ve only been getting blunt cuts as I want it to appear fuller and longer) to cut off as much as the damage as she could! As she was cutting my hair was when I saw my hair literally melting onto her hands. I lost it. Did she know she made a mistake? Of course! Did she apologize or let me know? Of course NOT! Only blow dried my hair and told me to condition it more often now because I was blonde. Ok. It wasn’t until my first wash (this was 4 days later) that I noticed my hair was literally falling out. Like actual clusters. I cried. My hair which I’ve been trying to grow out for SO LONG. Immediately I ran to Amazon after my cousin suggested this product. This was Tuesday. I used this product on Friday along with a at home head hair dryer (which I also bought on Amazon) and went to work. I let it sit for 45 min under the blow dryer until my hair felt like ramen (as the instructions suggested.) I did step number two, washed and styled with Aphogee’s heat protectant product and holy cow. My hair went from straw like to the softest hair ever. And it wasn’t only topical. It literally did feel healthier than it did 4 days prior with my first wash. This product LITERALLY saved my hair when I thought I had no other option than to cut it all off. I will continue using as directed every 4-6 weeks and using hair masks in between. If you had a bad day at the salon, run, don’t walk for this product. 10/10

i have naturally curly thick hair, and recently i bleached and dyed half of it red and the other stayed unbleached, i then had to bleach out the red a few months later and my curls on that side could barely hold, and i saw a youtube review on this product, so i bought it. one thing that should be noted is it says for the protein treatment it should be used by a professional and under a heat dryer like at a salon. i followed instructions, wetting my hair, combing it, towel drying it, and putting the protein in. i then took my hand dryer and proceeded to dry it for about 30-45 minutes, it wouldn’t harden like it said it would on the bottle, but my hands felt like i had hair gel on them. i eventually got it as dry as i could and rinsed it out, using the moisture treatment, which had a strong, not so great smell to it. i washed that out 5 minutes later and it still wasn’t entirely soft so i did one more round and finished off with regular conditioner. my curls weren’t much more defined or revived, but they were a little less brittle and held a tiny bit better (but not that much), but my hair was very soft and not very dry, so that was a good bonus. i also put the protein on both sides of my hair instead of just the one damaged side, so that could’ve been why it didn’t look like it did much. i would recommend this product to someone who doesn’t have completely damaged hair, and who is willing to take a good hour or two to use this product properly. i think it really depends on how much damage the hair has, as well as the curl pattern, but i’d definitely give it a try if you’re willing to take the time to use it and knowing the possibility of it not magically rejuvenating your curls after the first use.
