Sounds great for those Ballin on a budget
Buying audio for a vehicle can be so over thought and alot of money can go real quick. But budgets and end goals of sound is always a fight. I wanted to go a full set of infinity kappa but pricing was like yeah no. You have a budget. So I bought these skars and for the money I think I got a good deal. Big magnet and stiff strong speaker casing. Material of speaker seem to good. Sound wise. I was shocked. Sounded really good and clear. And these can handle more bass than I thought they could. So win for the skar audio for making a great product. Now to want totally made me mad. I brought 4x6 to series and the 6.5 and the 6x9 for my truck build. The 4x6 has regular size spades for wiring hook up. The 6x9 the same. Now why the 6.5 has a normal size Spade for wire hook up but the other is this tiny Spade hook up. Which would be fine if skar had wiring terminals in the box and which they don't. I am like I got nice speakers and grills. But no wiring terminals, well that's a bummer. So that's my only complaint is the 6.5 has two different size spades for wiring hook up.

I had plugs in the door panel. I popped them out, but the holes were still to small. So I dremmeled
These sound pretty good. I completely upgraded my sound system in my truck. I put in Kenwoods in the front and rear aswell as these in the OEM holes in the front door panels. The OEM holes were too small so I drumeled the whole bigger in diameter. It worked out perfectly. This speakers kit came with brackets but they didn't work for my 2001 dodge dakota so i ended up making custom brackets out of an invalid license plate. My truck was built without infinity system but I ended up making my own infinity system 2.0. I ended up cutting the male and female terminals off and solering them together with heat shrink on top. Then the Kenwood speaker kit i bought has plug and play harness to plug into OEM connector. I cut the harness in half and soldered the harness back together with these tweeter wires attached and I slid heat shrink over to finish it off. Maybe one day I'll put load the pictures of the harness where I soldered everything together professionally.

Good quality speaker, easy installation.
I just bought these to replace the stock dash speakers in my RAV4. So far, they sound really good. The sound from these is much more crisp than that of the stock speakers. They'll get a real workout later this week. For what it's worth, I am a woman who can use tools around the house, but don't typically do my own car maintenance. Removal of the stocks and installation of the SKARs was relatively painless. The worst part for me was trying to unclip the stocks from the existing wire harness. I did also purchase the corresponding Red Wolf harness, which made installation super easy.

Best Budget for certain
Used them for some time now... 2 months to be exact. Paired all 4 6x8 with a Harmony Audio 400.4. Not the best but doable amp. Set by ear of course as I don't own a SMD DD1 or O-Scope... ran directly to said amp and not my Kenwood Excelon KDCX3. On initial impressions looking at Quality Control on the speakers its done really well. It was consistent on all 4 speakers. No grinds, binds, or pops when pressure was applied on cone to test any imperfections. REALLY like the red spider designer and red dome tweeter. Brings the black out well. One thing I wished was done differently was the speaker terminals. Either make them wider to have more surface area to solder on or just make them push terminals. Yes I understand it costs less to keep them this way but im sure speaking for alot of those who are wondering, and has these... if they were push terminals most of us wouldn't mind the price increase to have that flexibility and ease of installation. Other things to note, most main stream branded speakers of same cost doesn't compare to these. In the same price range finding speakers with the same build materials is next to impossible. Glass fiber cones and silk dome tweeter are nice combos for this price. Stamped baskets also keeps prices cheaper also. One more thing I would like to see Skar Audio do in the future is reduce the basket size. It is a true 6x8 but this basket is a bit wide. On installation some may need to do some sanding or prep work to have basket sitting flush with oem mounting. I drive an 02 mustang and it works but with some wiggling and very slight modifications to the oem speaker mounts of course... not expecting a perfect fit but just my 2 cents on it.Performance - comparing these to what I have owned and played with... which are the Alpine Type R 6x9 the Alpines still outdo these. When I ran the Alpines they weren't even amplified just straight from the head unit which is the current KDCX3. It was louder, deeper, and had better acoustical response. These TX series were brought up to the same level as the Alpine with the amp though. Of course it's 60$ vs 100$per pair... in this scenario you do get what you paid for. The TX has the better tweeter for certain though. Anything 1khz on the Alpines were unbearable and ear piercing. The Skar tweeter are definitely much more linear and easier to the ears. Consistency on play time they both done fantasticly. From Rap to Screamo, double drum kicks and extended bass sweeps both did amazing. Although again, the Alpines were not powered via amp... with the glass fiber cone material mids were more crisp but held less resonance. My Harmony Amp had a 12/dB slope and yet it was still noticeable. The mid on the Skars didn't hang as long. Longer and lower notes also seemed to bottom the Skars out. Roughly 38hz and below... only tested this to see the potential although I know it wasn't ideal for them. The Skar never started smoking or stinking. They held up for 3 hours of constant play at my full volume as I do drive for extended times going out. No sudden smells or stops from the speakers. They have great punchy mids with the right filters, and good sweeps for bass. All in all compared to the Alpines the Alpines had better efficiency due to their neo motors. This one has better value and highs. Play consistency is the same though. If you're looking for the best value this is it in my opinion. They definitely hold true to their rms ratings. Dont plan to overpower them as they'll start to bottom out and clip. They do however need an external amp to reach their full potential in my opinion. Maybe in the future if Skar redesigned these they can definitely be top tier component pieces. Maybe downsize the basket, increase the throw distance, and up the efficiency per db/watt there will be no other that can compete. 4/5 overall. Would I buy again? Hell yes.

Great budget friendly speakers
I bought these from the good reviews and cheaper price. I was very surprised at the quality build and sound for the price. Did 6.5 and 5.25 in my kenworth both fit exactly like they should. Easy to set up. Only downside was the tiny spade they put on next to the regular side. Definitely worth the upgrade if you’re looking for a budget friendly speaker that sounds great

Great all-around kit
These speakers are all around. Great set up if you’re just starting, they have a great sound quality for the price and all the other things you get in the kit, like the mounts are really good the wiring for the speakers are also very forgiving. If you mess up somewhere in the wiring one thing I will say though is I did have to modify my door panel because my mounts are exotic once I modified them they fit like a glove. I would say that they should fit most vehicles perfectly great product

Fit 2009 dodge ram
These fit my 2009 Dodge Ram dash perfectly without having to do any modifications. The factory speaker cover fit back over these as well. . You will need adapter cables to make the installation easier. They look and sound good, def better than the factory speakers.
