Concrete Information
This book is not all theories and fluff. This book is about the cold, hard facts, supported by research, about how to teach mathematics. It covers all levels, although I found it more useful for lower level students. I loved that it gave concrete activities and assessments to use. Great resource.

Its a textbook.
I had to read this for a graduate class and take weekly quizzes, and I have to say I didn't hate it. I am teaching Special Ed Math this year in a high school and it gave me some useful info.

but it does have some great tips on implementing strategies
This is the text for my math methods course, and the reading can be monotonous and dry, but it does have some great tips on implementing strategies.
