Q: Hello. What is the difference between the 400 and the 800? Thank you.

The 800 features a built in battery charger, rds on fm. The 400 has a feature that lets you monitor WB for emergency alerts in standby.

Q: What is the current firmware for the DT-800? Is it still 1.0?

Mine is from late November 2020, and it’s on version 7 VERP07.

Q: Does the buyer need to get rechargeable batteries or does it use regular aa batteries? do rechargeable batteries come with it along with a charger? tx

In reference to the Duracell enthusiast fellow user, above: I have had repeated bad luck with leaking Duracell batteries, and I do follow proper instructions i.e., never mix different brand batteries, never use old with new, always use same brand, etc. My favorite brand is Energizer. I had no leaking problems, and to me they seem to really last longer than Duracell products. Moreover, the above fellow user states that this radio comes with 2 AA batteries. NOT in my case. He also states it does not come with a battery charger. In my case (USA market) IT DID COME with a 100-240 Volt battery charger. BE SURE TO SLIDE THE SMALL SWITCH INSIDE THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT TO THE PROPER POSITION LEST THE RADIO AND BATTERIES BE DAMAGED. You need to provide with 2 rechargeable NIMH batteries. Plug one end into the radio's micro-USB socket, the other end to an electrical outlet.

Q: Do radio sets as an alarm instead of buzzer?

The alarm sound is BEEP-BEEP-BEEP . . . not the radio.
