Q: How do I get it open. I have tried to unscrew it to clean and it won't budge. It is truly airtight.

Gwen, that's happened to me, too! I found that it helped to grasp the pitcher in your arm, holding it tightly against your chest and with your other hand, unscrew the cap by taking hold of the handle itself and turn. Believe me, it's going to take a hard, hard twist/turn, but it should finally give and come loose. If you have no luck with that, then perhaps a rubber grip would be of help. When placing the cap back on, just be careful not to tighten it too, too tightly. I hope this is helpful to you.

Q: Can someone confirm, does "lefty loose-y, righty tight-y" apply to opening this pitcher? Can't open it for the life of us bc we closed it too tightly.

Yes, it is that way. Use this pitcher everyday. Best way to open is hold pitcher against your body with a firm grasp and then turn the top to the left. Because of it's odd shape it is hard to remove lid if you just hold in one hand and twist with other. Works for me. Great pitcher just quirky to remove lid. Judi

Q: Can this be used for freezing milk? How well does it hold up?

We do not recommend to place the pitcher in the freezer. It is not designed to wok in such environment.
