How heavy is this machine? Will it fit in a suitcase for travelling?

This macine will travel quite well but I would always suggest a durable case which fits the machine. A drop of this machine could damage the computer parts. It is lightweight enough to take as a carry-on but I would be careful if putting it in an overhead bin. I aways take exteme care not to damage my machines. There are wonderful fabric cases on travel rollers available for ease in taking your machine with you.

Can you get a 1/4" foot for this sewing machine?

Yes you can. There are several choices. I got one that was for low shank machines and it works great!!

Does this machine have a thread-cutter feature?

This machine has a thread cutter on the left side of the machine but no automatic thread cutter.
