It is low loft and puffs a little bit, but don't expect the puffiness you get with polyester batting. It has amazing drape and is both breathable and warm. It is easy to work with right out of the package -- it doesn't wrinkle and distort like polyester bating does. Be aware that it does shed like a hound dog -- I went over my last project with a reusable lint brush at regular intervals to keep from getting the shedded fibers in the lines of quilting. I believe that most of the shedding was from the unfinished edges as I quilt ed before binding -- although there was a tiny bit of bearding. I quilt with cotton thread, so that is definitely a contributor to the bearding.
