If you love raw oysters this is amazing!! Had my doubts but that ended at the 1st try

I decided to purchase this shucker after watching my friend struggle to open several dozen oysters for dinner one night. It took her about an hour to get through a dozen...she finally gave up after three dozen. This tool is awesome! My husband and I had oysters a few nights ago, and we were able to open up 3 dozen in about 20 minutes! It was easy to put together...took less than 5 minutes to assemble. The only thing that could make this machine just a tad more awesome would be if the clamp was designed somewhat more practical. I think it would fit nicely on a table, but it was quite difficult/annoying to wind it down on a countertop with the drawers underneath. Although this tool is a bit pricey, I feel like it’s worth the money we spent. It’s sturdy...definitely made of quality materials and doesn’t feel cheap. It does what it’s supposed to do and cut the time it would’ve taken us to shuck dozens of oysters in more than half! I’m definitely thinking of gifting one for some friends.

One screw will not go in the entire way. Yes I swapped screws and vacuumed the hole, no joy. The pamphlet says to contact them via email, no email address was included. I sent a message via Amazon I'll see if they get back to me in a few days to correct the issue. If not I'm returning the item (too bad I think it might have worked well)Update: I was sent a replacement which assembled correctly. I've used it to shuck large oysters with ease.

I bought two types of oysters last night, excited to use my new oyster shucking device.I didn’t see an instructional video, so did my best to copy the setup in the photo. I positioned the instrument tip against the seal of the oyster and cranked down. However, rather than opening the oyster it punched a hole through the shell. I finished the job the old fashioned way, with my oyster shucker, then had to fish all of the fragments out.I tried a number of more times, repositioning the oyster each time, but to no avail. The tip of the instrument is remarkably blunt for something meant to finesse a mollusk open.I’m leaving two stars, rather than one, on the off-chance that there’s a correct way to do this which yields a perfectly shucked oyster. I doubt it though.

Purchased to open oysters. This one is a bit rough on the oysters as it crushes the shell and fills the oyster with shell. We are back to using our hand shucking method. Will try to sell this to someone opening deeper water oysters. Ours are river oysters and the shells may be softer. Not sure. But it’s an explanation we accept.

I watched 279 YouTube vids. on opening oysters. Then I started smashing them open with a hammer and lucky for the oysters I found this machine. I love it.
