PLUS Energy Gels

I’ve logged over 2,700 km this year and Huma Gels have been my go-to fuel the whole way. The texture is smooth, easy to take mid-run, and never upsets my stomach (which I can’t say for a lot of other gels I’ve tried). Every flavor is good, but the lemonade and strawberry are my top picks — refreshing and not overly sweet. I also really appreciate the steady energy release — no spikes or crashes, just consistent fuel that keeps me moving strong on big climbs. Whether you’re training for a marathon, trail race, or just want clean energy that works, Huma Plus gels are worth every penny. Once you try them, it’s hard to go back to anything else.

So far so good! I’ve only tried 2, but I went with the chocolate this morning. If I’m going to have GI issues it’s going to be with chocolate. I had zero issues and this was the best chocolate flavored gel I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried a lot. I have a sensitive stomach and so far I love both flavors, the consistency, the energy I felt, and no GI issues (which I almost always have w/ gels).

This is my third time using Huma Plus Double Electrolyte Gels, and they’ve been a game changer. I’m not a trained runner, but I’ve made it through several half-marathon Spartan races with these — they help prevent cramps and keep my energy steady the whole way. I follow the instructions on the packet, and they’ve never upset my stomach (which is a big deal for me with other gels). They’re delicious and easy to get down during a race. Overall, they work exactly as advertised — reliable energy, no crash, and gentle on digestion. I’ll keep using them for every endurance event.

I sweat a lot and get dehydrated easily, so the double electrolytes really help to prevent headaches for me! Good for 5ks and 10ks. Yummy and easy to swallow on the go with minimal acid reflux. Highly recommend.

I am picky with my gels. I can't stand those that are two thick. Maybe they have better flavors, or more sodium, or potassium, or carbs, or whatever. For me, the thickness of the gels is a 100% deal breaker. I am also not a fan of gels that overpower you with flavor. I would prefer more neutral or muted flavors. My go to gel and flavor used to be Powerbar tangerine (orange was just to much orange), but then I found the "orange dream". But even with Powerbar, you take to many (how many depends on the event) and my iron stomach would bit off. In comes huma, referred by a friend. Read the backstory, like it. Like the goal for a bit more natural, like the claims for easy on the stomach, though I never really had GI issues. Pros: - great flavors. Not a big fan or mocha and chocolate, but in a variety, I'll eat those. - easy on the stomach, never once has issues with it. - the new flavors, love the direction and interested to try them out. Saving them for a 100k coming up Cons: - not as easy imho to open as some others - not as easy to squeeze out the top. Its like the hole needs to be bigger, or they need the gel to be a bit thinner - yes its easy on stomach, but it doesnt seems to pack the punch/boost I would get from Powerbar. Not a deal breaker, but an observation - more expensive - they are not as thin as I would have guessed. Yes more than Gu, or Hammer, but the Powerbar is still more smooth. Seems like more cons, but they are quite minor. These are my go to gels. for ultras, I do still bring some powerbar, and mix them in, but its primarily huma and Tailwind Update: 05/19/2017 This is still my go to gel. Love most of the flavors. Really like the two newest once. Still not a fan of the rip top I wish the mouth area was a bit wider to allow the gel to come out quicker/more volume. That would change it to 5 stars for me.

Huma Plus Energy is perfect for fueling my long runs. The flavors taste great and sit well with my sensitive stomach. Added bonus that there are no artificial ingredients. I've found my go to solution for endurance sports!

These are the best gels out there. No gross after taste or film on your tongue like some gels out there. No chemical taste. They taste fresh and like real food. No gut issues since using!
