This is an abbreviated version, not complete original book.
This board book version is not the complete original book, it is abridged, missing parts. Does not have the part about the dog hats which I think was the most important. Returning it and buying the hardcover.

Very entertaining for my 2 YO
A friend recommended this book for my son after his mom got it for his son. Once it arrived, within a few days my son was hooked! Suddenly all his other books were shoved aside and this was his favorite. He demanded I read it to him everyday- even repeatedly. Soon I had him tracing some of the actions as we went through the pages: up, down, around.Unfortunately, at his stage, this proved somewhat difficult for him to start reading as he was only able to deal with single syllables. So he is good with the title: Go, Dog. Go! - which he says as long as he picks up the book. But then he gets stuck by the third page: LITTLE dog. So while I read he points. He totally enjoys pointing out the sun, moon, boat, bed and other fine details within the pages as we go along. All in all, this book does offer a lot to beginners for colors, opposites, size difference- even road safety! Well put together PD Eastman. As a matter of fact, my son's first "big" word came from this book: PARTY. Sometimes he can hardly wait to get to the end to show me the PARTY!Buy this book for your tots and you won't regret it!Feel free to also consider other options in the PD Eastman line up: Big dog...Little dog; I'll teach my dog 100 words and Are you my mother?I own all of these! And the one that my son is now reading with ease is "Are you my mother?" The words are short and simple and I think every child has a love for BIRDS!

Charming
I read this book as a young child in the 60’s. I read it to my children, grandchildren, and have given it as gifts also. It was a beloved book to me as an early reader, and has not lost its charm in the last 60 years.

Long, but fun and colorful book.
My twin two years old love the show and so we bought the book. They enjoy the book and since we only let them watch TV once dayit helps to channel their attention away from their favorite show.

THIS IS ABRIDGED
I missed the note when purchasing, but it is very important to know!Good size for young hands, somewhat indestructible unless your baby chews on things.... only reason I gave it 4 stars. The only other downside is my kid now calls dogs "dog go" instead of just "dog"... cute if you just think she is saying "doggo".

Heavy Duty Classic Story
Great classic! This is one of a classic that I didn't recieve for my daughter's baby shower. I was excited to buy it for her and read. The hard cover and hard pages make perfect for longevity and minimize the impact this book may recieve while growing up. It's smaller then the classic dr Suess book size, but makes up for the heavy duty style of the book.

Great board book for toddler with lots of pictures of doggies!
I purchased this book for my toddler. She’s 1 year old and love dogs so I thought the doggie pictures would keep her attention. She loves this book. The book is sturdy, great fit for my hands and toddler when she wants to hold the book. I would definitely recommend it and purchase for friends and family. Great buy for the cost. I wish there were various types of dogs but the dogs are various colors so I can ask my little one to point to the red, blue, or yellow dog!

Great book - poor colour quality
We love this book - only problem is that in places the book refers to something being "red" when it is clearly "pink"! Our grandson is learning his colours so this is genuinely confusing. There is lots of red ink on other pages - so it seems to be a printing error.

Lovely little book but not 8n best condition
The book is lovely but had to check in case bought a secondhand one but i hadn't. Edges slightly dirty and faĺls open on certain page as if over opened at some point. Not enough to send back unless giving as a gift.

I don't like it. I kinda hate it.
I don't like this book and even my son said it was a bit boring but ok. And he loves books! I don't know why I got it cos when I was a kid I didn't enjoy reading cat in a hat so why did I think this would be better :s it was the reviews I guess. My don has not read it (himself) yet. Maybe if and when he does we'll like it more. It looks possible for him so 2 stars. but he has low attention so hard to get him settled. He is 4.5 years oldIt's too tedious.

Very entertaining
It's a really entertaining book, especially for animal lovers. Also you can tell the style of language is different from the usual Dr. Seuss books, but that's because this book isn't really written by Dr. Seuss. It was written by P.D. Eastman for Dr. Seuss books. Good for beginning readers as well. My son actually prefers this book over many of the other Dr. Seuss books written by Dr. Seuss himself.
