I wear mine if on feet moving or not. I have fallen a lot but oddly not since I got this. My head feels perfectly safe while wearing it. I'm going to order clips like hard helmets have. The only concern was the open space above the velcro is a big enough opening to allow my head to 50/50 make connect with the floor. Easy fix is I wear it with the velcro in front. This way my head is well protected. Wish I'd found this a long time ago.

I bought it for my DB who is in assisted living, but so far am using it for a summertime bicycle helmet for short slow rides.
