nice chair once you get it together.
the chair is super heavy. but i guess if it's holding up a lot of weight you need something with girth.it's huge, it's wide. purchased this for a relative who died as i waited for this to be delivered. it now takes up a lot of room in my house. because it's extra heavy i have no desire to send it back.it sat on my floor in a HUGE box for about a week before i decided to put it together thinking it would decrease the amount of space it was taking up. i was wrong. it takes up just as much room if not more.so make sure you have ample space or you won't be able to walk around this chair.it was simple enough FOR ME to put together, given the fact that i have power tools. if not for that i don't know how easy it would have been. the base was simple. but when it got to assembling the back the bolts provided didn't quite seem long enough, hence the need for power tools. if not for my power driver i would have never been able to get the bolts into the back of this chair.but it's sitting in my living room now. it's definitely sold and sturdy. sits like a lead weight. if you can put this together solidly, then yes it's a good chair. just make sure you have room for this HUGE foot print it takes up in your home.

Difficult to assemble. Very sturdy.
The assembly directions did not match the chair I received. I figured it out, but the other really difficult part for me was screwing in the screws. They were very difficult. I finally succeeded when I found the right size socket. Now that I have it together, it isn't all that comfortable but it is high and sturdy which I needed when my hip was aching.

Very durable, not exactly soft, and heavy
I love the size of this thing. Yes, it's definitely wide and roomy, but the arms are low enough that it slides under my desk. Mind you, this desk has one of those pullout lap trays for a keyboard, and the arms fit under it. At their peak height they measure about 24 3/4 inches. And even though the width is a robust 23 1/4 inches between the arms, and 27 1/2 inches from the outside of one arm to the outside of the other, it still slides under the desk wonderfully. As comfort goes, it's not uncomfortable. I love how solid it is. You can plop down in it without a worry. But it's not terribly soft. This means that it will hold up for a very long time even with heavy people sitting in it, but it's certainly not a squishy, "oh my God this is so comfortable" kind of chair. One last thing. It is definitely heavy. Pulling out and pushing it in actually requires some effort. Obviously it wasn't made to be moved. It's more of a side chair, the kind that sits stationary forever. Having said that, it fits my desk so well that I will live with its weight.10/30/19 Edit: I added pictures of it under my desk. Note how the arms fit under the sliding keyboard tray. Also note that I used contact cement and glued furniture sliders to the plastic things on the bottom of the chair, and this chair slides *easily* around on the carpet. The weight is now completely irrelevant, the balance is not compromised in the least, and I've got a tremendously sturdy, easily movable chair. I love it. The only reason I'm leaving it at 4 stars is because it's not for everybody.

Comfortable chair, but be warned, the plastic feet break off easily.
I haven't owned this for very long just yet, but so far, it's good. I bought this for personal use because the office chairs I've bought lately that swivel and tilt have plates that bend on me.It was a bit tricky to put together by myself, but I was able to, I used the box it came in to lay the seat cushion on upside down then I attached the sled sides to the seat, I attached the back cushion to one side but the other was too far out so I had to brace one side against my body while I pulled the other side in with my left hand and screwed it together with my right hand, it would have been easier with some help. The materials seem well made, except for the plastic feet on the sled, three of them were broken out of the box, the pin/peg that holds them in place broke off, I had to pull two of those pins/pegs out with pliers so they didn't scratch my floor, the feet will stay on the sled but without the pin/peg they won't stay in place which means the metal sled will make contact with the floor and it makes the chair wobbly. I bought some self adhesive felt furniture pads and put them on instead to keep the sled and my floor from scratches. To me it's not a big deal so it doesn't effect my score, but it could be to some people. If you have carpet you probably won't need the chair's feet and definitely won't want felt feet, you'd want to get some plastic furniture sliders or something similar if you want feet.So far I've been able to sit for 6 hour sessions in comfort, the 4+" of cushion instead of the typical 3" of cushion definitely help.

Very comfortable. Very Sturdy.
We bought 2 of these chairs for the church. The people that sit in them have serious back issues. They love these chairs and have no problem if the service last 2 hours.

Great Chair!
We use these for patient chairs in our offices. They are a great size to accommodate larger patients. Easy to put together, but may be helpful to use a power drill.
