PROSTAFF 3S 10x42

We wanted binoculars for a recent trip to Alaska and this unit was selected. We did some research which I recommend to anyone looking at getting binoculars as there are a lot of features that may better suit the need/situation. For us this was a great option for price, performance, convenience and our need.After purchasing and using the binoculars, we were very satisfied. They bring in a lot of light and the image was enlarged and clear for spectacular magnified views. This is a great unit and not very expensive. It will be interesting to see how these hold up over time.

Well worth the money for what it is, almost bought Chinese knockoff glad I didn't . Nice and light, can hold very steady, very clear view as I have been using 45 year old Bushnell Insta-focus which did the job but these are quite the step up. Glad to have chose the 10 x 40 as things come in so much closer. Can see the treeline real clear across the lake. Haven't seen any Eagles yet but these will definitely do the job. they don't fog up after being outside in cold damp climate unless you nose breath over eyeglass , then you can just wipe with T-shirt and you're good to go. The eyeglass cover stays loose like everybody else say's , but I would only use it while it's in it's case anyway, I will never use covers outdoors either. All in all, they won't disappoint.

I owned these 10X42mm binoculars for just a few days before returning them. I am comparing them to a cheaper Tasco 7X35mm focus-free binoculars that I have at hand.Unfortunately the colors through the Nikon binoculars are flat and somewhat muted compared to the cheaper Tasco binoculars, also in bright lighting there is some glare and the image is just too bright for my eyes.Nikon build quality is superior to Tasco and I love the feel of the focusing knob on these plus the fact that the Nikon are fog proof.Overall these are good binoculars for less than $100, I just prefer the colors and 3D-like image through the Tasco binoculars, although those lack manual focus and have a cheap feel to them.

I love my new binoculars!I was a little concerned I might not be steady enough to really enjoy using these, but it is a non-issue! I figured if the focus and steadiness were to fine for my older, shaky hands I would give them to my wife.Ha! Not a chance, lol!We are avid birders and my old pair were just frustrating. These are amazing quality! They are lightweight and shaped comfortably. I have severe RA and numerous other issues. My love for birds is still outweighing the pain however. These are smaller and well balanced. They are a dream to adjust, too. I have very strong glasses & have no issue with them in regards to comfort.The other great thing, is the close focus is excellent! I am actually bed bound often and we have tons of things in our yard for me to watch on the days I’m stuck. Our room opens to the yard and much of what there is to see is just 10 or so feet out, especially the beautiful, tiny warblers. Now I can watch them with ease.I typically research the heck out of every purchase, these were no exception! Finally, I narrowed it down and these won. I am so excited to have chosen a regret-free pair.I would not be able to afford a high end binocular. These will do me great and if something does happen to them, I will not be completely devastated.
