Anyone know how long this can sit in the cupboard without getting stale? By the way, I cook them in the microwave.

I think for a very long time.I buy a big pack and eat it for few months, and the taste doesn't change.We also cook it in microwave for 50 sec each

Is the asafoetida used in the papad gluten free? because i know that asafoetidas are not gluten free.

There is no way of knowing for sure. The asafoetida I use at home does contain wheat flour (as the last ingredient in the compound), so I'd imagine the actual amount in the papads would be no more than a trace. Rather than go for the 20-pack, perhaps it might be wise to order a single pack which costs more, but it'll give you an opportunity to test for sensitivity before investing in a large supply. I hope it works out okay for you--these are my favorite brand and are REALLY delicious.
