I love it! It's cheap yet functional! No one is professional at home so this is excellent for game night with my family! It is smaller than the normal board but good quality!

All my reviews are based on the price I paid for the product and if it met or exceeded my expectations at that price.For this set, I paid $24.99.It's a nice beginner set that my son and I enjoy playing on. I'm teaching him how to play and he wanted a set of his own so I decided to pick this up.I like that it's all wood. The pieces and board are all wood. The pieces are the "classic" style pieces, which my son and I both like since he's learning the game.I also like that it came w and extra queen for each side. I don't expect that we will lose a piece, but my son was quick to say that he can get 2 queens if he gets his pawn to the other side of the board.The inside of the board (when folded) stores all the pieces nicely in a felt lined holder. The elastic straps that hold the pieces in are firm but my guess is that over time, they'll start to lose some of their elasticity. Only time will tell for that though.There are a couple of issues that I will point out. The pieces aren't perfect. One I received has an extra little piece of wood sticking out that wasn't stained (see picture). Another has a little deformation, which I don't actually mind because it gives the set a little more character. My guess is that you shouldn't expect "perfect" pieces when you get this set.The thing that worries me the most is the thin feeling of the board. I feel that if you put a little too much pressure on it, it will split the board. As long as you take a little caution, it'll be fine. Also, you need to remove all the pieces from the holders before laying the board flat (including the extra queens) otherwise the pieces won't allow the board to sit flat on a table.Lastly, the felt on the bottom of the pieces is extremely thin. It's there, but in some cases, it is so thin, it doesn't feel like there's anything.Overall, I think it's a nice set, for the price. I bought this for our grandsons to play with during a recent family vacation. They really enjoyed it a lot. Having the ability to play three different games was helpful.

The board and pieces are a bit small. The chess pieces lack detail and are difficult to differentiate. I was also missing one black checker.
