Perfect replacement switch
The media could not be loaded. Perfect replacement foot switch. Was very easy to install and replace old one from IKEA that broke. Only needed a small Philips head screw driver to install. Took less than 5 minutes. Build quality is very good.

Inexpensive and works
These switches are very affordable (inexpensive) and they work. They are not "heavy duty", and with a lamp that you might use regularly you should have a spare switch available for the future if needed. I have some electrical experience so they were easy to understand how to install on the cord, but if you have never done that before you might want to look up a video or ask someone how to do it. I do recommend them for light duty applications.

These switches work easily and reliably, once assembly is complete.
These switches come completely disassembled. There are some small parts and tight clearances that can be challenging to deal with, but the payoff is a small, rugged 3-inch or so diameter product that works reliably.These switches are intended to work with lamp cord-sized (i.e. smaller scale than my computer, or my vacuum cleaner cords) wiring. There are of course two wires in the lamp cord switch.The floor switch is a rotary toggle that works by interrupting one of the wires while letting the other pass through the switch uninterrupted. Each of the two wires has its own tight passageway inside the switch housing. The wire that gets cut must have each of its (cut) ends make contact with small spikes that penetrate the cord insulation.Holding the open switch assembly, both wires, foot contact pad and underlying spring and fastening screws in place during final assembly takes some care to assemble. That took me a while to assemble, but was not unexpected given the simple compactness of the final product. I'm very happy with the results.
