Easy to operate
One must ensure that the can opener engages properly to the edge of the lid before pressing the "start" button. Once that is done, the opener works by itself and stops at the end, then returns by a tiny step, signaling it's time to lift the lid from the can.Has worked perfectly well for the past 4 years.

It stopped working
My can opener worked great for the first 3 weeks or so, and then it became impossible to mount it on a can. The rim of the can won't go between the turning wheel and the cutting wheel and the cutting wheel appears to be tilted. If I had bought it in a store I would return it for a refund!!

Does not work on large cans
I really liked this little can opener. It worked on everything that I needed it to, until I tried to open a can of chicken from Costco. It wasn’t able to make it around the larger circle and jammed. It’s now broken an makes a horrible noise.

Not reliable
The media could not be loaded. Works sporadically. If I want it to even work, the batteries must be given a roll within the compartment ; and then, it either does nothing, chugs a few inches and stops without having cut anything, or - if I’m lucky, my can gets opened.

Joy to Use
I usually anticipate awkwardness is doing the simplest "techie" tasks like replacing batteries in flashlights or try to adjust the color of the TV picture. So I was thrilled when I put the Bartelli on a can and pressed the button and watched it quietly opening the can, stop when done and lift up the lid. It looked close to a miracle! I have an electric can opener but I've struggled to get it to catch onto the can on the first try which was a bother, I have a touch of arthritis in my right hand so it's very hard to crank around a hand opener and it hurts a bit. So for me, it's pure pleasure to use it. I appreciate the quality of the Bartelli, that it's cute, and love that it just fits in a small space in a kitchen drawer. Of course I highly recommended it for very young people and very old people with food in cans!

Shards
At first I liked this. It was making opening cans alot easier. Then about 2 weeks ago I had a little piece of metal stuck in my thumb. It was the size of a splinter. I had a feeling it might be the can opener, but this had never happened before so I thought I got it somewhere else. Then a week ago I did realize it is the can opener leaving shards behind after it cuts the can open, and it doesn't fully do it right. I don't know what happened. I wouldn't think I would have to sharpen this? You don't do that with Manuel can openers.Anyway if you can, get the handheld can opener or the one that hangs under the cabinet. Little disappointed with how this one turned out.

She found it so easy to use that she asked me to order two ...
I bought a Bartelli Soft Edge Auto....Color: Red in October 2015 for my wife to replace another brand standup electric can opener that proved too difficult to handle due to worsening of her arthritic condition in the fingers of both of her hands. She found it so easy to use that she asked me to order two more in color blue....one for my daughter and one for my daughter's mother-in-law. She has recommended it to others who have seen it in action in our kitchen. It has opened many medium sized cans of Pork-n-Beans, main ingredient of my wife's prized Boston Baked Beans party dish. My wife and I highly recommend it because of its ease of use.
