Sensory friendly & waterproof!
It was really afraid that this is going to make some crinkly noises or otherwise disturb my sleep. I'm pretty sensitive to irritating noises or some plasticy waterproofed bedding, so I was pleasantly surprised at this.No crinkling, no stickiness, no scent. Very sensory friendly. It does heat up a bit if you just have a sheet on top (depending on the sheet- microfiber warms up worst), so I add a regular padded mattress cover on top.I got this because I could not afford a new mattress, and I had a broken spring along one edge with some stuffing coming out, which I was nervous of breathing dust from. It was pretty easy to encase my mattress (I had help putting it on a king bed, but it was easier than I assumed, and I could have done it alone). I've had it on for several months and it is sturdy and has stopped spills from leaking through.

Fits great and not noisy.
I like that it is covering my mattress and protecting me from allergen. I am not sneezing when I wake up now and eye symptoms are much better. I also got the pillow covers which are great. Good price too. Bought one of the organic pet dander dust mite sprays as well.

The Allerease mattress protector is pretty unnoticeable under the sheets when it is on the ...
I got this Allerease mattress protector mainly because of one of my dogs, whose elderly and has had a problem with jumping up to sleep on my bed when I'm not careful about keeping her out of the bedroom, and leaking urine in her sleep. True to its advertised claim, this mattress protector has kept my mattress safe and completely dry.The Allerease mattress protector is pretty unnoticeable under the sheets when it is on the bed. The interior side that touches the mattress has a rubbery feel to it, while the outside feels like a stretchy fabric. At most, I've noticed that it makes the mattress a little less breathable, and both I and my partner get a little more sweaty sleeping with it on the mattress, especially during hot weather. However, it isn't noisy, which is a plus compared to others I've owned.I will say that putting the cover on the mattress is a feat. It completely encases the mattress, can be unzipped almost completely in half - although every way I've tried it, its a difficult one-person job to get the bottom portion underneath the mattress, while keeping it properly oriented on top, especially with a thick and heavy mattress. I would say that my least favorite part about this cover is getting it on and off of the bed, but I don't think there would be many better designs, apart from a fitted-sheet type mattress protector, which is not the style I wanted.I've had this cover for about a year, and after six months, I started to notice it tearing apart at the corner seams. I've always washed as per the instructions and air-dried, and without heavier use than what I would consider to be average, I did expect it to last a little longer. I did some simple repairs with my sewing machine myself to reinforce the stitching, and with that, the rest of the integrity of the cover has held up well.

Use this wisely and it works GREAT!
This mattress cover is the best value for a polyethylene film mattress cover. Polyethylene helps cut down on mattress off-gassing; it also does everything else advertised here- anti-dust mite, anti-bed bug, etc. It IS a hassle to remove and wash these. In order to get around this, here is what we do: zip this onto the mattress (if the mattress is new, give it a couple weeks or months to off-gas as much as possible). Next, top with a washable, fitted mattress protector that has a PUL or TPU backing, with poly or cotton fill and a cotton fabric top. This adds cushion and prevents the polyethylene from causing that awful sweaty feel. Top with a 100% cotton, untreated fitted sheet. Then, spills or accidents only require the washing of the fitted protector and sheet. The polyethylene zipper layer is really just the mattress's new "skin." It never really needs to come off. This is especially important if you are dealing with a bed bug infestation. You CANNOT remove the zippered protector in that case! Our fitted protectors only cost $20-$30. So for $35-$50 we get healthy, clean mattresses from relatively cheap conventional mattresses. We have lots of kids and can't afford to buy everyone latex/ wool/ organic cotton mattresses! This is a close second. Thanks, Allerease! My suggestion to Allerease- MAKE THIS IN A CRIB SIZE!!! I am buying one of the twin size to wrap around a crib mattress for our baby due in a couple months because it is the cheapest, best product for wrapping a conventional polyurethane foam mattress for baby. Cheaper than other polyethylene mattress wraps. The excess just gets folded and tucked. It will be topped with a fitted mattress protector and fitted sheet, so the excess isn't unsafe. Still, a crib size in this price range would be awesome.

Definitely easy to put on with 2 people!
We bought these for dust mite/allergy protection as we are "both are of an age that has flaking skin regardless of applying lotion morning and night. And my husband had allergy symptoms that were text-book "dust mite allergy". NOTE: wash the bedding down to including the mattress pad and the pillows, and vacuum the mattress and under the bed - then follow the directions for EASY all sided sliding the cover, zip, and you are ready to remake the bed!!

Too big for my mattress
This was more stiff than I liked and I'm sure it will rustle when its slept on. It's also really big for my 9" queen mattress and so baggy and poorly fitting. I'm sure it does a good job (I like this brand) but I would probably opt for a better mattress protector next time.
