The LICKIMAT Casper is a fish-shaped slow feeder designed to reduce feline boredom and anxiety. Ideal for serving raw or wet food and treats, it mimics natural predatory feeding, stimulates saliva for digestive health, and promotes dental hygiene, all while allowing your cat to feed comfortably in a crouching position.

Didn't work for my cats!
This mat was more popular than the soother mat but the food spent more time being eaten off the floor as they preferred this to the mat! I gave up eventually! Sorry!

Disappointing
Bought this to see if it would help slow my boycat down who had suddenly decided to start eating like a feral monster for no reason. They have wet food as their main meals and normally eat from small, flat plates. He ate from the mat for most of his meal but once it got to the parts that were in the grooves of it, he struggled to get the food out of it and mostly just ended up frustrated. He nipped at a couple of the grooves trying to get his food out of it sometimes and dragged it around a bit so I can see if a pet was left to eat from it they might end up tearing up the mat and even eating parts of it. I'm not sure a cat has the right kind of flexibility in its tongue to get in all the tiny spaces of the mat.I tried him with a little bit of dry kibble to see if that was easier to eat from it. The only positive of that experience was he didn't end up with half his snack all over the floor, but again some of the individual kibbles got stuck in the grooves and he couldn't get them out without me using my fingers to prise the now saliva-covered biscuits out for him.It was somewhat easy to clean by hand but I imagine the grooves could easily end up with a build up of trapped bits if not very carefully washed every single time. I think if the grooves were a little bit shallower or further apart it might have been a better purchase. Now it's just sat in the kitchen and will probably be thrown out.

Cats like it
Stops cat from eating food too quickly. Cat hasn’t been sick since started to use. Only flaw is difficult to clean. Have to soak and scrub

Nice product
This is a lovely, well-made product for your kitties. It's very easily cleaned of both wet and dry foods. The only thing that leaves to be desired is that the grooves are quite shallow. It'd be better if they were just a little deeper.

Slows eating
Slows down eating and helps to prevent the cat returning their food to you. Bits of food do get stuck and frequent cleaning is needed. Bought to replace a similar mat of the same brand that had visible white marks appearing on the silicone. This one is ok so far.

Great For Greedy Feeders
The media could not be loaded. Arrived today and put to use straightaway.Kitten is 7 months old and has been gasping down his meals like it's his first and last.Initially he ran straight through the food looking for his normal bowl, but with no prompting he back stepped (again on the food) and started eating with no issues whatsoever. It also took him significantly longer to finish.I had used the back of a spoon to squish his wet food into the squares, yet when he was finished it looked as clean as when it was delivered.Fingers crossed he doesn't start trying to eat the rubber itself but for now I am very happy, and kittie does not seem to mind it either.Edit Jan 13th 2023. After only a few weeks the kitten has almost destroyed this. He has taken to chewing on it trying to get at the little morsels of food left in the grooves. Have found little pieces of the mat around his feeding area. Not sure if he has eaten any :(

Great for greedy cats - but under supervision
The media could not be loaded. I love this, it's a great idea for greedy pets. My dog-owning friend recommended it, and I'd never heard of Lickimats before. Our cat is completely obsessed with food and gulps down everything far too quickly - so the Casper mat is really useful for feeding him wet treats as it really slows him down. I read that licking is soothing for cats, and stimulates happy hormones, so anything that forces him to slow down his eating must be a good thing! For comparison, we timed him eating a tube of his favourite Lick E Lix treat; when served on a little dish as we previously would do, he wolfed it down in less than 60 seconds, but when served in the Lickimat for the first time he took 15 MINUTES to get every last morsel. Result! You'd need to press the wet food right into the grooves and ridges on the mat to get the most benefit; we use a little plastic knife, or you could use a wooden ice lolly stick.*WORD OF WARNING*As mentioned by a few other reviews, if your pet is exceptionally greedy / obsessed with food, you'll need to supervise them using the Lickimat. No doubt caused by the frustration of knowing there's a tiny bit of food stuck in a crevice that their tongue just can't quite reach, I can see why cats would bite and chew the mat! The material is soft and flexible so it's easy to gnaw on - see my last two photos, only a few seconds with my back turned and our hungry boy had already started to nibble the mat 🙄I'd recommend this, for only a fiver it's worth the money, easy to clean and a nice size so it won't look too unsightly on your kitchen floor - but definitely don't leave it there too long otherwise bored cats will undoubtedly try and eat it!

It works for my quick eater
My cat used to gobble up her food way too quickly. Now she enjoys eating off her lickimat - it's slowed her down and she seems to like it.
