Great bedroom amp
I bought this as a bedroom amp and paired it with the recommended vintage 30 1x12 cab. The great thing about it is that you can crank the amp and still have a reasonable volume. I haven't messed with pedals because I have other amps with effect loops. Going straight into the amp you get great clean tones up to a really nice dirty but not too distorted tone that a lot of people are looking for. It doesn't have enough gain on it's own for metal in my opinion, but like I said, I haven't put pedals into it. If you're using headphones make sure you have some that are high quality enough. I use a $50 pair of AKG headphones and there's breakup and a generally noticeable reduction in sound quality compared to the Celestion. I bought JJ tubes as replacements when I ordered it but I haven't put them in because the stock ones sound fantastic. 100% recommended. I also have a V22 combo and this has a very different character. I'm impressed enough that I might buy a G series from them too.

How could you possibly go wrong ?
I have read other review about bugera (yes they had problems when they first started) I wanted a "PRACTISE" amp not one to take on stage. Although I would not be ashamed to ! this is my third Bugera I have two Bugera G5 Infinium 5-watt Class-A Tube Heads, running in stereo to two 4x12,s. one bugera cab 16 ohms Total and one into the despised line 6 cab at 16 oms (not exactly the proper match) and i love the different voicings from two cabs that you can buy used for a $ 100.00 us. and the 2 line 6 cabs i have ,both have "Celestian seventy/80 eighty watt 16 ohm speakers in them. now, this little jewel, that produces awsome tone @ 4 ohms out to one of my line 6 cabs that i rewired for 4ohm mono 16 ohm mono or 8 in stereo. maybe i just dont hear the bad stuff everybody talks about. but i know with this little guy the 5 watt setting is extremely loud for 5 watts. there is no lack of top or bottom end. Hello, for 99.00 i just paid for this,I can not even buy a build your own tube amp kit that is half as good for 215.00 not to mention auto biasing. I know people cringe when i tell them i use line 6 cabs....LOL>> but , Again I can not buy a sheet of baltic birch and build my box for under a 100.00 then you have speakers, tolex, castors, hardware, jack plate, bottom line I know how to use an EQ if it warrants. thus far not needed, Buy one !! the prices are going up, go to you tube and check out reviews, almost every popular channel to us guitarists that was bashing bugera is now singing thier praises.

One tiny complaint on an otherwise awesome product
I love how this chimes when you replace the input tube with a jj803s reissue and the output with a mullard el84 reissue. But that output el84 is almost wasted. If it wasn't such a chime machine it would matter. It easily keeps up with my chime configured Lil Night Train. But when I want the output tube to distort, that's no problem with the lil night train's 12ux7. It's shame I can't make that noise at low watt settings because it's not a real attenuator. Try it. Try to set it to 1 watt or .1 and turn the volume all the way up and get the output to clip. Won't happen. It will set to full power turned up, and be a lot louder than you think it's going to be. I'm probably going to get a real thd hotplate off ebay. But I mean for the price, you are still getting an outstanding class A real tube amp with a very impressive sounding reverb, even if it's not a tank. Can't recommend the combination of the JJ ECC803S reissue with the Mullard EL84 reissue in this one enough. That's the other thing. The choice of tubes is easy and inexpensive if you want a chime machine that can then take a pedal for metal. It really loves the Suhr Riot a lot. The dynamics of the two work together like magic, especially with a 1x12 cab with a blue, greenback, or v30. You get these lush rich distortions that work for anything. You can get the cheap Mooer Solo riot clone but courts out on if it's as good. I think it is. Some folks don't.

Component problem
Overall, I think this a great practice amp but I think they could do better with their selection of components. After nine months of using it once or twice a week it started to snap crackle and pop. Easy enough to diagnose that it was a faulty EL34 power tube. Not wanting to make a warranty claim, but wanting to verify that was the problem I ordered a new tube and problem solved. So, I contacted the Bugera company filling out all of the information they needed, told them the fix, asked if they were having problems with these tubes, and asking if I could at least get compensated for the price of the tube. The response was “Well tubes need to be replaced when they go bad”. I do not know where they source their tubes, and over the years I have replaced many in my other amps, but not after limited use.

Absolute best tube amp head I’ve ever owned.
My favorite amp head I’ve ever had. From the first time many many years ago I bought this amp put it in the combo form. After owning several black stars a tiny terror on Marshall and other amps I bought this to use with my cab and this is absolutely my favorite app of all the a.m. so I’ve had After owning several black stars a tiny terror on Marshall and other amps I bought this to use with my cab and this is absolutely my favorite app of all the amps I’ve had. It’s simple but it takes pedals amazingly I didn’t use the lake paddles until I tried some with this and it’s not going to be a metal lamp but it’s self but all you have to do is add a little tube screamer or something and this amp can do anything. Very low on wanted noise levels and the power attenuator is great to have. On full 5 watts with high gain the volume could literally blow your ears out could literally blow your ears out. By it self with full gain it all have an amazing bluesy crunch and on half gay and it just sounds fantastic by itself too. Designed and engineered in Germany. For the price and quality this is great. Even for a higher price it would be worth it. Has everything you need. Just use a nice cab/speaker and it will sound amazing.
