OtterBox Symmetry Case for iPhone 12 / iPhone 12 Pro, Shockproof, Drop proof, Protective Thin Case, 3x Tested to Military Standard, Antimicrobial Protection, Black

I had my doubts about this case. I was worried my iPhone would turn into a brick given Otterbox's reputation but I was pleasantly surprised. The case fits perfectly and is not bulky at all. It is textured on the back which gives it a sandstone feeling and it just feels solid. You'd be confident that your phone will be protected if it falls with this case on. I also really like how the camera bump is flush with the case so the XS Max sits flat on a surface. The case also raises the screen a little when placed screen-down which is also a big plus as it protects the screen from scratches. The only downside I have with this case is a lack of compatability with tempered glass screen protectors. I used to have a tempered glass screen protector on my Xs Max, but when I put the phone in this case, the case lifted the protector up slighly and my screen witnessed air-bubbles galore. I guess you could work around this with a thinner-bezzled screen protector but honestly, I am using the phone without a protector with this case and I haven't looked by since. Would highly, highly recommend this case, especially if its on discount but even if it isn't!

Great product and service

I purchased both the Symmetry as well as the Commuter case in order to compare the two head-on. In the end, I sent the Commuter back. The Symmetry is just that much sleeker, and comparatively offers the exact same level of drop protection. The Symmetry won because: 1. its and all in one unit 2. the unit appears more seamless 3. the Commuter is actually two separable pieces that combine to make the one sturdy case. A rubber inner and a hard outer shell. And while the Commuter offers more protection (has a flip-down/up piece that fully protects the lightening charging port - speakers are still exposed), it didn't feel as comfortable as the Symmetry. And as for that rubber inner, well, I could tell that over time, with taking the case off and on, it would become more and more flimsy, same with the charging port cover. 4. the back of the Commuter has a hard suggestive military look to its design, and too many indentations, whereby the Symmetry was just flat and smooth from top to bottom. NB: I'm a tall man with big hands

This is my 2nd Otterbox case. My first was excellent and keep my old phone going for AGES even though I dropped it on our rock solid floor quite a few times and inflicted all kinds of horrors upon it. The description on this case's page was a bit confusing and I assumed like my 1st Otterbox, it would have be an entire container system - back case, front case and then a container around it to hold it altogether. When it arrived I realised it's just the back case. It feels sturdy and well made though.

This does exactly as you'd hope. I bought a new phone in the summer and was worried about dropping it as I damaged my last phone that way. Since the summer I have dropped my phone twice and this case has saved it! I have dropped it on hard tiles and no damage was caused as the case made my phone bounce and protected it. Case doesnt impede on use of buttons or charging port as others do. Im rather impressed. The only slight thing is I wish it was slightly more bevelled on the back surrounding the camera lenses. The camera lenses on my phone do stick out a bit but luckily when i dropped my phone it landed on the front not the back. I do think the back doesnt provide much protection for the lenses but not willing to test this out

Having purchased Otterbox Commuter series cases for my previous two iPhones, I was disappointed to learn that this range is no longer available in the UK although is obtainable through Amazon.com in the US. Symmetry series does preserve the slim contours of the iPhone Xs Max and offers good protection if dropped but lacks the rubber plugs for the bottom edge sockets that Commuter has, although of course there is no headphone socket to protect now so we are only lacking the lightning socket rubber plug in this case. Having said that, this case in black is very smart (with no Apple logo hole in the back, unlike the Commuter series) and offers the essential protection you need without making it bulky which the Defender series does, as Defender is designed for more heavy-duty requirements. The main difference is that whereas the Commuter series case is supplied in two parts, the Symmetry case is supplied in just the one piece and is therefore simpler to fit. I would always recommend Otterbox cases.

I have had this phone case close to 3 years, it has seen my iPhone 12 Pro through a work life where I use it to record data all day every day, multiple butt clenching drops. It has now definitely seen better days but my iPhone has remained immaculate. I will say that it could do with being more grippy as it has slipped out of my hands a few times and slips on surfaces. I will definitely look to replace it with the most up to date version for when my iPhone 15 pro arrives.

This is the 3rd OtterBox case i have had, they have saved my iphone 6 plus, 7 plus and now my iphone 11 pro max. Ive dropped them numerous times, some from a couple of meters and smashed a few screen savers but the cases are still good to go and no damage to my phone.

Perfect fit for iphone mini 12. Snug and won't easily come off phone. Slim and very plain looking except for the brand etched at bottom back part of the black case. Otterbox makes such a sturdy case for all sorts of phone. It is on the pricey side compared to similar other cases but offers really good protection in my opinion and probabably would outlast the very phone its protecting unless its purposely abused by the user for whatever reason. Wish they would drop down a bit for the users who advertises for them by choosing and using their brand cases. It can be covered by a sticker which is what recipient if this case did.
