Effective Trap
This humane live animal trap cage works well for catching smaller rodents and critters. It’s easy to set up, and the catch-and-release feature is great for humane trapping. Perfect for smaller pests, but consider the size if you’re aiming for larger ones.

Did the job on the 1st try
Bought the large trap, got it to work on the first night to catch a cat that was doing number 2 on our porch.Put some sausage in the bait area to lure the cat and covered the bottom with an old t-shirt. After several hours, voilla! The trap worked great. It could even hold 2 cats no problem. It was sturdy and at no time I was worried the cat would escape even though it was pretty big. After use I was able to fold it back the way I got it to store for future needs.

Better than expected
This was made with better material than expected. Also larger than expected due to reviews but not a problem for me. First day out caught a squirrel which was not my intended victim. I just let it out and gave it some peanuts. lol. I want to catch the couple of rats who have caused havoc in my shed. I tried the Tomcat poison and that was horrific. Never again. Only improvement I suggest is a stronger latch for back area. They include a tiny latch and suggest you strengthen it with wire or zip strips (animal would chew right through that). Otherwise happy with quality of purchase.

They work!
Within hours we had our first ground squirrel who we were able to move to a nicer area further from my garden. Set up was easy and there are no issues with this cage at all. I did not have to wire it to make it more secure. My only tip is to thread the lever through the trip panel before you secure the back. I like that these can be flattened back out for storage once you are done with them. The tension on the spring proved to be what was needed compared to a larger trap that I own.

Not sensitive enough...I will update if possible
This is a nice strong trap. It was easy to put together & set up. Price was satisfactory. Downside is it is not sensitive enough. My game cam caught multiple squirrels playing IN & around the trap. It showed a big one licking up all the peanut butter then bouncing around & playing in the trap. I don't know what finally caused it to trigger & catch 1 but it took hours of playing before 1 got caught. I will try the cardboard floor to see if that helps. I will update, if possible later.

Worked perfectly
I had a possum in my house I couldn't get rid of. I didn't want to hurt him/her because they are gentle creatures and non-violent. The trap worked perfectly. I used half and apple and canned cat food to tempt the possum into the trap. The animal wasn't hurt and I release it into the woods. I don't mind killing rats and mice with bait, but I don't like hurting gentle animals. I can highly recommend these traps as easy to use, and successful.

Dangerous! Not humane! Injured me and injured an opossum
As soon as I opened it I noticed the rust and corrosion on the new trap. I needed to catch the critter so I proceeded to set it up. I soon scratched the top of my hand on two wires on the trap door. The ends of the wires have not been sanded down at all and the reinforcements all have extremely sharp edges as I was soon to find out! After the abrasions on my hands I put on gloves and continued setting up the trap, well while I was lifting up the door my gloved hand got caught on a reinforcement and I got pierced by it! It went through the glove. It's as sharp as knife and I got cut on my index finger. The cut hurt! It was deep and in an area that I constantly use and I was in pain for more than a week. (The pic of the cut finger was taken more than a week after the incident)The trap did catch an opossum that day. But the trap's door slammed down on the opposum's tail and pinned it down, the poor thing was in a lot of distress and pain. I had a deep cut in my finger and now I had to find another pair of gloves to free an opposum's tail, with the risk that I would get injured again by the faulty trap or by a bite, the critter was going crazy, there was blood and poop in the trap, what a horrible experience! All of the cage is full of sharp, unfinished hazardous components and the actual trap space is too limited for an animal a long tail to be trapped safely, it's not humane at all! It should not be sold as is.

This item should help with little critters.
If the need should arise, we will have the right cage to catch the little critters.
