I make a mash for my bird with an abundance of different low iron ingredients. In the morning, when I defrost his mash cups, I add in around 2 tablespoons of the Mazuri pellets. I crush them up in a coffee grinder before hand and then mix them in thoroughly. As a powder it mixes in easily and also has the additional benefit of adding a soft but gritty texture. It gives his food a nicer consistency so that it's not complete mash. Typically, one bag will last me around 3 months, which is amazing for the cost. I get the absolute best value out of this stuff, and that makes it even better than it already is. Another little added bonus is the way the bag closes. It has an airtight seal near the top of the opening, so when you close it you're assured it seals completely and will be fresh for the next time you open it. As for the pellets themselves, they are a bright yellow color. In terms of size, the pellets are around half an inch in length. They are your typical sized pellet and perfect for larger soft billed birds, however, if you have a smaller bird, I recommend grinding the pellets up into powder.
