Useless!
I already wrote a review, the item does not work. I bought the windmill and the Sweeney's spikes and the moles had piles of sand al around them. I tried to download a video of my yard but I waited for about 2 hours and the video never downloded. I wrote to both of the companies only the windmill one replied tell me that it is unusual, that they never heard of such thing. I kind of like the way the windmill looks and that is whay I am going to keep it but it was not for decoration that I bought it. The spikes I really want to know if I can get my money back. Thank you

They had lunched on the roots of a favorite rose bush while we were on vacation
I carefully greased it up upon purchase and the pesky moles have packed up and left. They had lunched on the roots of a favorite rose bush while we were on vacation. The poor plant's roots were a delicious but expensive meal for these unwanted guests. Leaves were all dead though there was some green in the stalks. I cut it back, put the stump in water for a month, and noted new root growth. It went back to its spot, next to the Mole Chaser, and now has new buds. I will store this great little gismo during the winter and grease it again come spring for continuing duty. We've used solar spikes to establish a perimeter in the past. Now they have good company in an interesting little windmill with its annoying, but humanly imperceptible, vibrations. Goodbye furry creatures!

Didnt come with all the parts.
I sent this item back. The instructions were not written well and I wasn't even given all of the correct screws to assemble it. The metal is thin and cheap. If you truly want to get rid of moles kill them and poison them using the poison worms, which have always works best for me. This device will only make the moles go to a different area.

Don't buy this
The product arrived missing two bolts and two star washers. That was annoying, but an easy and inexpensive problem to fix at the local hardware store. Once I purchased the missing hardware, the assembly was smooth. However, because we have dogs, I decided that I wanted to have the windmill higher. I called the number listed in the manual for replacement parts. I was on hold 10 minutes the first time I called, and 20 minutes the second time and never did speak to a human despite being told by the recording how the company saw its customers as "family." I guess I have a different understanding of what that might mean than Harbor Freight. My advice would be to avoid this product--the rattling noise in the windmill may have an effect on moles, but I'm skeptical. And unfortunately, now I'll never know.

Just ordered another one!
Well, it may work. Not sure. But it does appear I am successful in harassing these horrible pests as much as they bother me. I plant the stake in the central most portion of the network, then they move. Then I move. I'm chasing these guys all over the yard, 20 feet at a time. It may not get rid of them, but I'm having a ball being their worst nightmare. If nothing else, maybe the dear critters will work themselves to death building, rebuilding, re-re-building their tunnels. In fact...I just ordered another one of these. Bring'em on!PS/BTW: I just hung a small can of oil on the "T" frame. Every few days I re-oil the bearing. Can't let a bad bearing destroy the entertainment value of these things..

Just OK
I wanted something other than chemicals or solar stuff. Not the best quality and is subject, as other reviewers state, to bearing damage due to no protection. In addition, there is only about a two foot extension to the windmill so it sets close to the ground, not sure if that's how it works but it's awful close to getting hit by it, especially if you have kids or animals running around. I extended my windmill using one section of metal electrical conduit with a coupler. As far as the bearing, I got an old plastic top from a juice bottle and glued it on the front of the bearing, worked great (cheap too!!!). I tried to fit something on the back but all that did was stop the blades from rotating I lathered a heavy dose of grease to help protect it. Not sure if it actually works but I haven't seen more signs of the moles that started to burrow in the back yard where the windmill is.

Voles move into house!!!!
seems to work quite well so far the voles have moved into my house!!! we have caught 2 of them in mouse traps they are quite clever the move the traps without setting them off the trick is to place them where they aren't expecting them. Can't tell if there are any left eating my berry bushes but at least they seem to be working I had bought 2 of them from Gardener's Supply they were $29.99 each should have checked amazon before orderingupdate we had a very windy weekend here in northeast kingdom of vermont and we had to wire the pole to the deck to keep pole upright but boy does that thing spin when the winds go over 30mph
