Impressed
I need to get 12 volts off a 24 volt battery pack on a large outdoor three wheeler. I only need a small amount of power so I put a 5 amp circuit breaker on the input. It works perfect. I put an 'off' switch on the input, but in my opinion it really isn't necessary except as extra protection in case the module dies and shorts out. The no load current draw is only .5ma. That is .0005 amp. Absolutely amazing. That is less than the battery pack loses just sitting due to battery internal resistance. I tested a couple of other puck voltage inverters going from 12v up to 16v & 19v. They are all identical in this regard. Color me impressed. I have used the up inverters in projects and mine have been stable and dependable just like this down regulator.

works great
Regulates as follows: Input >12.7V output V = 12V Input <12.7V output V = Input V - 0.7V

Caught fire.
So I hooked it up on my genset to run 12volt panel lights. It’s a military generator so I had to drop the voltage down for 24volts. The minute I turn the battery disconnect on it’s started smoking. Turned it off pulled it out and double checked my wiring. It was all correct. Not happy lucky I didn’t burn down a 10k$ gen set. If I could. I would give it 0 stars. Make sure to do your research. Don’t buy this.

It worked like a champ
As soon as I got it, I hooked it up to the battery source and it worked perfectly ... the motor I was driving spun up great ... even when under load, I'm happy !!

Deceptive Ad
The dimensions shown on Amazon are not accurate. The product received was considerably heavier and significantly larger. Because of that I cannot use it for my application. Deceptive advertising

Did What It's Supposed To
Got this to put lights on a 24v toy for a friend's grandson. I noticed that even with nothing connected to the 12v side the 24v side pulled enough power to make a 1/4" spark when connecting to the battery. I put the switch on the 24v side to ensure it's not draining the battery when not in use but it ran a mini light bar just fine.
