Five star performance, but not without faults.
"Oh no...buffering!"My toddler knows what buffering is, and how to complain about it, not exactly a good way to introduce her to technology.Maybe in your house there's not a problem if Daniel Tiger has a large pause now and then but it wasn't flying in my house. The wife said "do something" and that meant something had to be done.Our router is an Asus RT-N66U, not exactly a slouch in terms of performance, but it is slightly hampered by being on a different level and multiple walls away from the Fire TV stick. As hard wiring isn't an option for the stick, the solution was to boost the signal in any way I could.I've had my doubts about antennas such as these, as I've used one with limited success with a Foscam IP camera. No amount of orientation or positioning seemed to matter with that blasted camera.With these antennas, however, I have been pleasantly surprised. Using WiFi Analyzer on my phone I confirmed that the antennas gave me a 10db increase in reception where the shortest distance between antenna and device involves a TV, a living room, drywall, brick, a bush, open air, brick, and then drywall again over a 50' span. The Fire TV Stick measured this increase by going from "marginal" reception to "good." I can live with that.More importantly, my toddler can live without buffering. My wife, however, is not as pleased. These definitely do NOT pass the crucial Wife Acceptance Factor as far as aesthetics. It's as if I have the legs of a dismember spider leaning against the wall. So while performance is good, you'll definitely want to consider where your router is placed and its visibility before embarking on this option. Another downside is that for the three antenna I received, they are much too heavy to self-hold their orientation and angles. If you like to tweak the positions of your antennas for maximum performance you're going to be disappointed in these as the joints are too loose for that sort of thing.Overall I'm pleased with the purchase despite the caveats with the loose joints and poor aesthetics. Appearances can't be helped (duh) but the joints could be in future iterations; hopefully the manufacturer will be able to address that. Please note that I did receive this product at a discount in exchange for a fair and honest review.

One of the 3 rattled really bad, I actually heard it before I even opened the box. Just bringing it inside I was concerned to hear the racket coming from the box...further investigation shows the entire antenna is disconnected from the connector. I’m very frustrated because I had time specific plans for these.. maybe it was the packaging or lack there of. No air packs or anything, just three antennas in a huge bag in a oversized box. I imagine they take a beating during shipping. Take a look at the pics...

Boosts signal over original antennas. More in the 5 or 6 dBi range though.
