Engineering Madness
An excellent idea and that’s where it begins and ends. This product is rubbish. The diameter of the carrier shaft is 16mm and the inside diameter of the locking collar is 16.8mm. That is engineering madness because there is no way to eliminate run out. You could sit and play with the four adjusting screws until the cows come home but will never get the collar centered with the carrier shaft. With so much play, the base of the cutting blade in the carrier shaft will never be perpendicular to the carrier shaft. Once the cutting blade reaches around 3mm into the wood, the thin inner circle of wood cannot withstand the blade run out any longer and the wood shatters. The speed of penetration into the wood has nothing to do with this outcome. Don’t waste your money on this rubbish. Worth a zero rating & thats been generous!

Neat little set, successful first go, use drill press if you have unsteady hands
This item is pretty neat, it has notched drill bits that slide into the blades sideways than into the holder there are 4 set screws you loosen or tighten to loosen or tighten the blades and drill bit. I recived in drill bit for every blade but they appear to be universal size, my only concern is being able to replace them. If you do not have a steady hand it may be better and to use a drill press . No matter what the wood you are cutting needs to be clamped down. And not terably thik. The example is my second attempt, pauduk i got a little sideways on my first one. But the wood is going to make a difference my experience with pauduktells me it has a tendency to splinter. Knowing what i know about purple heart and what it does to my carving tools and saw blades unless its a super thin peice i wouldnt recommend. And keep in mind the tendency of the wood your using. Puprple heart gets gummy, its a resinous wood. I just for clarification have the blades that do a ring and a button or bead. Take it slow and dont force your blades or bits.

Experienced woodworker, but very difficult to not chip wood, does not work well
pros: cheapcons: you still get what you pay forI had great difficulty not chipping the ring cutout, as if the bits are not sharp enough and/or there was too much wobble (eccentricity). The bits are very difficult to center using the 4 set screws, and not centering properly makes it almost impossible to cut out a ring without chipping it.Using poplar, 3/4" thickness, clamped down and using drill press, I was able to create one somewhat "ok" ring by going very slowly out of five attempts. It still required quite a bit of sanding and work with a round file to get the inside of the ring smooth. I could have created a similar end result in the same amount of time with a coping saw, file and sandpaper. The idea of this set is to quickly create the ring shape, which I could not achieve.A much better solution would be a sharp Forstner bit. You might spend 50% more, but it would actually work. I probably should give just 1 star, but I did manage to make it almost work one time, so the 2 stars is generous.

Item is a great idea but doesn't perform as it should
I like the fact that I received it in a timely manner but so far have broken three of the drill bits the closest I came to making a blank for a ring shattered before it even real deep enough to finish it I have no use for this now it's great in theory though
