My First Compound Miter Saw
I‘ve wanted to buy a nice power miter saw for many years. I finally decided to do it and researched the various brands and types. I settled on this compound miter saw from Skil Saw after carefully weighing the features and reviews against the competition. I believe I made the best choice. It is a very sturdy piece of equipment with great features. The engineering shows a lot of careful planning. Controls and adjustments are conveniently and safely located. Operation is very intuitive and since I’m a beginner, I really appreciate this. I‘ve used it several times for simple cuts and so far, I couldn’t be more pleased. I feel confident cutting with it by following the instructions carefully. The cuts are precise and accurate. If I had to find a fault, it would be that it is kind of messy. The collection bag doesn‘t seem to collect much of the saw dust while cutting and it ends up all over the machine. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but clean up isn‘t that difficult. The price was super good and I bought it as a package with a nice stand that seems custom made for mounting this saw. I look forward to many years of reliable service from this saw. Skill has earned by trust.

Terrific value per dollar
I read lots of reviews before getting a compound miter saw and ultimately settled on this one because, time and time again, the reviewer mentioned it was a great value for your money. After using it for a few years I can say but I whole-heartedly agree! I've used this saw for a wide range of projects: framing the entirety of our enclosed and air conditioned 150 ft² shed, doing trim work around the house, and seemingly everything in between. I've had no issues with degradation of materials or cut quality, and it has consistently and easily cut everything I've thrown at it, all the way up to treated 2x10s.Great saw and I would absolutely buy it again.

Does what a DIYer needs
As a DIYer this does everything I'd expect from a miter saw. I'm not sure what miter saws that cost double the price can do that this doesn't. There's a ten inch blade, which is good but far from the maximum size. Otherwise, it's not too heavy to pick up and move around and from front to back is about 40 inches; it would be better if it could take up less space in the back. The build quality is excellent and it comes with a clamp built in. This also comes with a dust bag which does moderately well, but can be attached to a dust collection hose. Finally, the thing that makes it really a great value is the accuracy of its shadow line. Not only does it have a very accurate shadow that seems to be more accurate than a laser, there's a small "v" marking that allows the user to tweak the cut to the center of the shadow line.

Good value. Happy with the saw overall.
I've had this saw for six months now and I don't regret the purchase. The action on the saw is smooth. The miter is accurate and easy and quick to adjust.Minor quibble: the set screw that keeps the slide mechanism from working for transport doesn't work very well. You have to crank down on it pretty good.More than minor quibble: the laser shadow line is a great feature if you can see it. Even setting the saw up indoors to do trim work I sometimes have a tough time seeing the shadow line if the ambient light is bright. I've had the saw set up outdoors and I couldn't see the shadow line at all. If the LED's casting the shadow had a few more lumens output that would help. I may open the thing up and see if I can solder in some stronger LED's because the shadow line is a great feature.

i love it. barely used it so far
i have owned it almost a year. i have only used it a few times. i did check all the cuts and all cuts are perfect so far. great value for a double bevel sliding arm miter box. i got the 100$ stand with it that was suggested. and yeah perfect combo. cause this is not a light saw. it is not a cheap harbor freight saw its not a high end saw. but its not a cheap junk saw. it is really heavy and bulky pics do it no justice.

Havent used it yet but....
I will come back later and leave a review once I use it. BUT my old miter saw is a 10 inch Ryobi. Very small...and lightweight. Easy for this old gal to carry in and out of storage but it had all kinds of things wrong with it. Never got straight cuts from it..locking handles broke. It was a mess. So I bought this due to the price and everything it offered, I wanted. Well I got it shipped to me and DANG..its VERY heavy and VERY big. I was not expecting that at all.I waited to have help to move it. In the meantime, I built a solid wood table to sit inside of a small metal shed. Bought shed just for the saw. Sigh. Anyway...built heavy wood table to fit...drilled holes into table and bolted saw to table. It aint going nowhere now. BUT the shed being small..i knew a 2x4x8 wouldnt fit in the shed..soooo I cut a hole in the side of the building to be able to run a board out the side...then i covered the hole with a rubber type flap. I have not used the saw yet since its only been a week...but it looks big and scary. LOL I am use to using small tools. I still need to learn to use it but it looks pretty simple. I will update once I have used it...but I am happy with my purchase so far. The shed..thats another story. UGH.I can say one thing..this will be alot better for cutting small plywood type projects or 2x6 or larger boards. I dont like using hand saws. I can never get a straight cut. My hands arent that strong to hold on like that. Maybe I needed a table saw too. Thats next and sawhorses. For yrs I have used crappy plastic cheap sawhorses that fall down on me all the time and no place to cut. an uneven yard is the best i have. But I am excited to finally have something descent to use...as i said..i will update once i have used it for a project.UPDATE: Have cut a few boards and used the bevel also....works very well. I like it. Still learning all the knobs but it is good. I am happy with it. (I added pics)
